I work with some immature nurses.
I agree. Those nurses should know better than to mess around with facebook during work hours. It just makes them seem irresponsible. As a future reference to oncoming nurses...refrain from using facebook, myspace, etc. during ur shift to avoid problems. You never know who might be paying attention to you. -Nursing rocks

My love-hate relationship with nursing
You certainly have a point. One has to mentally prepare themselves really well for a career such as this. Working with people can be very stressful and to deal with what nurses do is truly impressive. But then again, you chose this path and it can only expand your view to another world of life. If at times you feel u get a positive feedback from work then it means you do care and are working hard to prove it to yourself. -p.s. nursing rocks (:

Do I really hate nursing?????
Nursing is not an easy career. You have to study really hard and focus on your patients constantly. If you know this is the right job for you then stick with it. In the meantime, just stay with nursing and research into another field that is more appealing to you.

Education vs Experience
You are very welcome. Just focus on your current classes and don't stress too much over the other requirements.

Do you have to be smart to be a nurse?
Don't second guess yourself so much. If you know deep down that nursing is the right job for you, then you need to trust your instinct. Not everybody can handle this kind of job and to be able to practice it you need to have certain qualifications. If you work well under pressure, can handle families and patients with care, and have the willingness to save people...then you can take on nursing. The classes are just part of the process to prepare yourself...It's a big step but in the end it is worth it...especially because you will have felt like everything you worked hard for was worth the sacrifice.

Education vs Experience
I believe you can still acquire experience as a nurse while still getting your education. That is why scholar programs have been created...to teach the incoming future nurses how to take responsibility for the job. You have to be qualified and have certain characteristics to attain the field of a registered nurse.
