  1. :loveya:Hi, I am a med-sug nurse with 4yrs of experience in PA. I took this exam conducted by Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN) in May and I PASSED it. My work offered 2 day review course, that basically reviewed all the systems. And I did reviewed the NCLEX CDs and the med-surg book. Some questions were hard about medication that I have given & some are common sense & some are experience based. But more questions were in cardiac and pulmonary. Overall I didn't think it was hard.Because the economy /recession all our reviews got pushed back for 6months...Mine is coming up in March.I don't know how much of raise i am going to get. They reimbursed the exam fee. All our nurses are happy to have a job for now.Hope this helps.
  2. We also use name and medical record number / Date of birth.I also agree with the above posting some elderly patients have dementia/Alzheimer's and transient confusion with medical condition like low sodium, dehydration.
