  1. Clinical, to me, will not neccessary be hard but challenging for us as nursing students. Healthcare practices involve a lot of rules and policies...so they call "CYA practicing" (ie. "cover your ass practicing"). But if we unite, have a communication site for us BACC2 class 2010 to let each others know our concerns, and help each others out in the way we could...I think we will be OK. Let s keep the spirit up. We will do it. Good day, my friends.
  2. Hi Sherbevs, Sorry I have been disconnected with you guys couple days...with 2 kids , a husband, a house and all the moving arrangement...I am almost insane. I had asked the program director about some brief stats of the past BACC2 class at UTMB, such as how many of us make it to the final day, what is the state board exam passing rate, how is clinical expectation...Here is what is replied: "Congratulation in your acceptance in the BACC2 program, and I will be happy to answer any question you may have. As you said the BACC2 program is very intensive program. To be successful in the BACC2 program, you need to be dedicated to the program and have the program one of your top priority. Many students done it before, and you will. We have 100% NCLEX success pass rate. The students that been successful in the program have the time management skills, self disciplined, organization skills strategy, they do their assignments and reading on time. Some of the students who was not successful ( they are few), they have their own reason, some family issues ..etc. If your goal is to be successful in the program, I think you will do it. We the faculty will support you during the program to be successful. Hope this help-Please let me know if you have question. Thank you and have great day-SA ********* Assistant Professor Director Accelerated BSN Program " My utmost goal is the MSN program...so I have to keep up with good grades with the BSN. Hope we can do it. Can't wait to meet you guys and be classmates together. Good day
  3. Hi All, I have been searching for an appartment, a decent and safe place around UTMB to stay and be able to focus on study is rather costly ... Anyone want a roommate? I want a roommate and I can be a roommate, too. I have 2 kids who will be staying with my husband during the weekdays. I basically will meet with them and stay with them every weekend in Houston. Let me know if you are interesting in sharing a room with me. We can be good studying partners too.
  4. Hi, I also got my acceptant letter today, ie. Monday, to the BACC2 program. Whew.... I would deeply appreciate it if any nursing student from UTMB BACC2 class that started in the Spring 2009 could be our mentor by giving us more insights and advices about: 1. what is a typical studying day, and the whole semester, 2. how is the clinical integrated into a very heavy workload at school, 3. especially, how many of us in a BACC2 class could make it to the final graduation day, (do we have some failed out of the program, some withdrew, some quitted...like I heard...which is not scarry but big concerns) 4. what is an average grade one could earn, I honestly mean that if it is at all possible for us BACC2 nursing student to earn an A in such a heavy work load of 20 credit hours per semester. Thank you.
  5. thanks jazzynurse 2b and ms sealy. This process provoked a lot of anxiety. I will cross my fingers for all of you who applied to BACC2 and hope to see you all.

  7. Thank you Calinative 84. I got by BS, I did specifically mentioned the accelerated program, I hope I am eligible to register my summer semester and graduate earlier then. It could be confused though.Again, thanks.
  8. Hi, I got my letter this morning also, whew... However, I got a question that I would appreciate it if anyone could help, please. I orriginaly applied to the Spring '09 accelerated BSN which expects to conclude with graduation in May 2011, ie. 4 semesters program, form 01/2010 to 05/2011). In the letter, it said, "admission as a Generic Track baccalaureate nursing student in the Spring 2010 term." Would that means the same accelerated tract that I had applied for? Somehow, I am confused about generic and accelerated. Thank you.
