  1. I was just wondering if any of you would like to share with us nursing students what you didn't learn or get taught in the nursing program that would have helped you if you had known that information on your first day/week/month of your first job as an RN? Feel free to be candid. Thank you!
  2. I just finished A&P and I am 31, married, and have 3 children. There were about 10/80 students in that class that were older than me. Don't worry about the young ones from high school and such, most of them either failed out or dropped out by the middle of the first term. The last term of A&P consisted of mostly students in their 30's, most of us just got accepted into the nursing program too! A word of advice, the first term was the hardest. Our A&P teacher is really hard core. He is super smart and went more into the physiology of everything than anything else. The people that did the best in the class were the ones that realized they need to give up a lot of time to study. You have to make sacrifices. Good luck!
  3. It is a point system. I am not sure if there is an interview. I haven't read anything about that in all the information they have. I will ask my adviser. I know once they pick the top 150%, those people have to do a proctored essay. I am just really nervous about my chances because RN programs are soooo competitive. I just kinda wanted to see what experiences other people had with applying and getting in. Like, did you have a 4.0 or how many points you ended up getting or whatever your circumstances were. Any info is helpful. Thank you for responding.
  4. Hi, I am applying to the nursing program in January and was wondering if any of you have any tips or advice that would better my chances of getting in? I have gotten all A's so far for my pre-reqs and plan on keeping it that way. I have prior experience as a Medical assistant. Thank you!
