CA NCLEX-PN RESULTS
Hi masters-pn, CONGRATULATIONS on becoming a nurse. RNs do pay extra for the temporary license, interim permit, and they pay $51 for fingerprinting. I am trying to get my Texas license by endorsement and it is $200! That is how much it is by examination! Like you said, the money is on the way!

You are welcome, mjenn85lvn2b (since you are a nurse and not a nurse to be, you might have to change your name). Hi XODiane, Did I read your post right? You passed? Hi Kutietae, Do they send the results certified mail? I can't remember. If they don't, maybe your results were lost in the mail.

Do you see yourself retiring from nursing, or will you change professions?
Hi designer RN EMT, I am sorry that your mother and husband passed away but I am sure that they received good care while they were alive (from you). You seem like you are doing ok with it. I am sure your father is still receiving that good care. I can only imagine how hard it was to take care of 3 people at once (and not having to go to work). It is a 24/7/365 job and some people don't realize that (ones not in the medical field). God bless you!

I agree with you 100% about not ever completely retiring! This is definitely my first and only career. I disagree with FELICIAJORDAN, though. I don't care about the toll nursing takes on me, I LOVE IT and I can't ever see myself doing anything else. It is all so worth it to me. I have my BSN and I am getting ready to do travel nursing.

That is true, Morte. If she brings it up, they may feel like she is trying to lay the blame elsewhere instead of taking the responsibility for the error. I agree with what you are saying, though. The bottom line: if they are targeting her and want her out, they will do whatever it takes to get her out of there, including making her take full responsibility for something that wasn't fully (although partially) her fault. Good luck ajuna! :)

Nursing Student makes a very stupid decision and recieved a DUI...advice...?
Hi lotus1, You need to tell your nursing instructors stat (the sooner the better). If you don't, they will find out anyway, and think you were trying to hide it. They will for sure kick you out of the program then. As someone else posted (I believe it was tiffanyleigh0202), you do not want to go through nursing school just to find out it was for nothing (you can't take the boards). I went to nursing school with someone who had 2 DUIs and she had to go in front of the BON before she took her boards (she was honest about it and I believe that is why they let her take the boards). They did let her take the boards and she is a nurse who has been sober even since then. As I stated in another's post, you made a mistake. You leaned from it (hopefully). We all make mistakes but being able to learn from them is key. You didn't harm yourself or anyone else (be thankful for that). You have someone(s) watching out for you. Good luck! Let us know what happens. :)

Hi nock tine, When you say the records are gone did you lose them or did you already mail them off? Either way, from now on always make copies of everything that you sign or that you send away, then you have proof. I cannot see why you can't get another copy of the court documents. I know it is hard to do but you have to do what they say. You are at their mercy, they determine whether or not you get a nursing license. You do not what to make them mad. I would not drive to Sacramento because you are angry and upset, you will probably start yelling and then they will for sure deny you licensure (and possibly have you arrested for intimidation, assault, all of the above). Do not under any circumstances drive there. Others have waited 2 months (myself included). You have come this far, you do not want to give up or "lose it" now. You are almost there. Just sit tight. You will be all right (I didn't mean to rhyme, sorry). Good luck!:)

Hi 4sunshines (and everyone else waiting), Hang in there. You will know soon. I am sure you passed. I had to wait 2 months (8 weeks) for my results so I know what you are going through. I know it is hard to do but try to keep yourself occupied otherwise you will drive yourself nuts worrying and that will not get you anywhere. As always, let us know how you did. :)

Hi Ajuma, I do not think you should quit (especially before finding another job). How will you explain not being employed? It will look more suspicious and they would probably think you are lying when you said you quit. What would you say? "I left before they could fire me for making a medication error". We ALL make mistakes, some of us just forget them (or deny that they ever made them). Even if you weren't a new grad, it would be difficult to find a new job (but you probably should start looking, if you haven't already). You owned up for your mistake which is a good thing. You should not mention the other nurses getting away with things while you are not. That just shows immaturity (and it will probably make them "target" you more, "who is she to tell us how to do our job?") Please do not say that under any circumstances. Also, do not change your number, address, etc. as that will also be viewed as immaturity. That being said, I am sure you have learned from your mistake. I am sure that you will not do that again. No matter what happens, it is not the end of the world and this will make you a stronger person. You will be fine. Good luck! Please let us know what happens. :)
