  2. Having the monitors is nice, but always check the patient. We get too complacent with machinery sometimes.
  3. Take the time to sit in front of the telemetry with who ever is sitting at that moment in time. Don't be afraid to ask questions and just keep on looking at strips to try and figure out what is going on with the patient.
  4. When New York State dictates that there is a nurse to patient ratio, then the hospital I work for will implement what ever law they have to follow. Otherwise, the nurses can only speak up for themselves.
  5. Have had enough of trying to get a nurse to patient ratio in the hospital where I am. On the tele floor, sometimes we can have up to 9 patients. It is getting tiresome and I am getting burnt out. I will be starting home care again, just so that I have some say in the amount of patients I have!!!!
