Hospital mail takes forever, just an FYI!! So don't get nervous when it doesn't come right away!

I think you should go the cheaper route. Also, do a program that is associated with a hospital if you can. I really think it makes it easier to get a job, they look out for their own. Good Luck deciding. PS -- A BSN makes a difference for Penn, CHOP, and Temple. That's about it.

Start looking at hospitals now. Christiana hospital has a GN internship programs, I would check their website weekly. The last I checked there are no jobs right now, but I keep hearing rumors that things will open up in the new year! Here's hoping, as I don't have a job yet!!!

Hello I am a new grad, I graduated with my BSN in May 09. I still have been unable to find a job, I have had some crappy luck. Live in Philly, drove to Baltimore for an interview at Hopkins, to find that the position had been filled, I could interview, but it would be for the "wait list." The nurse recruiter (who never called to tell me the position was filled) set up another interview for the 28th of December with a different unit. Other then that I have really had no luck, especially in Philly and even at the hospital where I work (they have their own RN program, and hire their grads first.) I keep hearing people say take jobs in LTC, I already know that is not the population I want to work with, I really think I would be miserable (even if I could find a job -- heard in Philly it's hard for even LTC positions.) The office where I currently work has an open Office RN position, it would be full time with benefits, pay would be ok, more then I make now, less then I would make on a floor. My question is, is it worth it? Does it look better to nurse managers and nurse recruiters that I worked as a RN in LTC, or that I worked in an Office, in a field that I eventually want to get my MSN in... I am tired of not having a job, but I am also tired of waiting for a nurse recruiter to give me a call! I have applied to every hospital in Southeatern and Middle PA, Southern NJ, Delaware, some in Maryland and even DC. I also decided to start grad classes, and am taking a class in the spring. I am just terrified that I still won't be able to find a job, and then come May a whole new batch of grads will be out on the market!!!
