  1. I graduated from a community college program 2 years ago and have been working as a RN since. I recently decided to go back to school and continue towards my goal of becoming a NP. As I have been researching schools I see that there are a lot of programs now offering RN-MSN. I figure by doing this program I would save a significant amount of time and money. The one school that I seem to be leaning towards is Walden. Does anyone know of this school and have any insight on this program? Would there be any reason to continue on the traditional path RN-BSN-MSN that I may be overlooking...besides the fact that with Walden you do NOT gain a BSN along the way Therefore if you quit before finishing, you dont have anything to show for your effort. Thanks in advance.
  2. I had to go through the same thing, getting fingerprints done again. I had already had mine done as well and only a year ago but they still said I needed them done again for this new license. I sure hope you get everything worked out soon.
  3. I passed. :w00t: Logged on the the maryland board of nursing site today and saw that my info has been processed already...such a quick process! I cant imagine what it used to be like to have to wait so long for the results. anyhow, I guess the PVT really does work. Now, on to try to find a job.
  4. I took the test yesterday....I left feeling sooo bad. It was honestly the hardest test I have ever faced. The test cut off somewhere between 85 and 90 questions. Anyhow, I tried this "trick" by following the directions as listed on this post and a pop up came up saying "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your....Another registration cannot be made at this time." So I guess if this trick really works, I passed?! I find out tomorrow so I will repost then. :barf01:
  5. hello- i am currently a full-time nursing student and working part-time in a totally unrelated field. i am considering becoming cna certified to change jobs and gain more experience but i am unsure if the salary will be comparable to what i make now. can anyone please tell me the starting salary for cna? i understand that the pay will vary from state to state but at least i will have a general idea. thanks in advance.
  6. help please! i am writing a nursing care plan for my patient who has an open wound on her leg from a fall. although she has dementia, is a high-risk fall pt. and has hypertension my ci wants me to focus the care plan on her skin tear. i am trying to write a care plan based off of this an i know i can write that she is risk for infection r/t ....but i am not sure what the actual medical diagnosis should be. i have to write about the pathophysiology, etiology, clinical manifestations and treatment of the medical diagnosis but i am not sure that a skin tear is an actual medical diagnosis. can someone please point me in the right direction? thank you in advance!
