I am in the same boat. I have submitted over 100 applications to various hospitals around the country. The only one that hired me was a psychiatric hospital PRN. They only wanted to give me 2 weeks of orientation for 3 different units, but I asked for more. Honestly, I would take any job you can get right now. Just make sure you ask for more orientation if you need it.

Thanks so much for your responses everyone. I honestly don't know why they sent that letter because later that week they sent me my official results saying that I passed! So much for a delay. Anyway that's one less thing to worry about. Now about finding a job....

Any NCLEX practice book is a good one to help you study, but I have found that online ones were easier for me. Really you just kind of have to jump into them as starting in any one particular topic won't really help. I took a Kaplan course but honestly would not recommend it to everyone because I feel that content review would have helped me out a lot more. But any practice questions that can help with your critical thinking skills will help! And just do a ton of practice questions!

I just took my NCLEX on the 16th, and on the 18th I got online, paid the $7.95 to get my unofficial quick results, which said I passed. Today, I got a letter in the mail from the Missouri State Board of Nursing saying 'this letter is to notify you that the release of your exam results will be delayed,' then lists the possible reasons as: Photograph missing or unclear, signature, proper identification, other. I'm positive that I sent a notarized, signed, photograph and displayed my driver's license, fingerprint, palmprint, etc., so I'm wondering what the 'other' category may be. Has anyone else gotten this letter, and if so, what does it mean? Are they going to fail me? Do I have to take my test again?! Any help appreciated. sidenote: I only got 78 questions and was done in about 40 minutes. Does this have anything to do with it?
