  1. Yes indeed. It feels better to know that you can expect a paycheck after all these long months looking... the best of it though is the work experience. HAPPY FRIDAY:yeah:
  2. Hi Selene006. Thanks for inquiring. I am still looking. I did accept a job with a pharmaceutical company (it helps a lot with the meds, Dr's orders...) but i am affraid I might become a little rusty for not practicing my routine assessments, patient reports.. things like that... :)
  3. HELLO EVERYONE: Your input is greatly needed... It's been now 5 months since I have been looking for a job. I tried LTC, CLINICS, FLU CLINICS, HOSPITAL, COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE, MENTAL HEALTH... the result is nada, ni, none. I've tried it all: THEY ALL SAY: WE ARE NOT HIRING NEW GRAD. Even finding a CNA job now is hard.. maybe they require an MSN to work as a CNA. Also, they all ask me if I know somebody that works for the company. It's like if you don't know anyone that work there, you don't belong there. I know some say try volunteer work... yes I believe in it too but who's going to pay for gas to get there or even for my bus pass. I ONLY WISHED THAT INSTEAD OF WASTING MY TIME WHILE I WAS IN NURSING SCHOOL TELLING ME ABOUT GETTING MALPRACTICE INSURANCE MY BELOVED INSTRUCTORS HAD INSTEAD SPOKEN ABOUT HOW TOUGH IT IS TO GET THE FIRST JOB ONCE YOU HAVE YOU NURSING LICENSE. One place I went had me filled all the papers, spoke to some kind of supervisor just to tell me at the end when she saw that I only had clinical experience " I AM SO SORRY, I SHOULD HAVE ASKED YOU THAT AT FIRST... WE DON'T HAVE A NEW GRAD PROGRAM." NOW I DON'T THINK I REALLY CARE ABOUT BEING A NURSE IF IT'S ONLY TO LOOK AT THAT LITTLE BLUE CARD.
  4. Same here in Massachusetts. They all want experienced LPN. Anyone around worked in ambulatory care as lpn? What is it like? Will a new grad fit there? Thank you so much for your help!
