  1. well start looking for a sitter.. u need to be in a classroom for A and P hands down!!!!!
  2. regardless of the wage.. if you can still pay your bills with your check do it.. i tell anyone who wants to get be a nurse to get their CNA license first.. as a CNAS i have come across tooooooooo many lazy nurses who have no consideration for the work load of the aides but they continue to be pain in the butts by looking for an aide to do something that they them selves can do oir dishing out orders that they themselves will never do, . if you work as an aide you will be able to see health care through their eyes and your eyes a nurse and establish a better working relationship with your aides. as a nurse now.. i know what its like and know that patient care is a team effort not an CNA effort. and plus a lot of aides will respect you more knowing that you were in their shoes at one time to, and that you will work with them. remember.. they dont work for you, YOU ALL work for the patients.
  3. practice as many "select all that apply" scenerios that you can. and what everyone else said. god bless.
  4. i totally agree with everyone... whats the point of preparing for the NCLEX if you dont pass the course.. you will be only stessing your self out! and more disappointed!
  5. as i said earlier... no on can teach you how to critically think and thats what the NCLEX is testing you on.. I loved saunders (cd-rom).. it was great for me to REVIEW THE KNOWLEDGE.. the kaplan book helped with testing strategies ( get this book... you will be glad you did.). but the disk that comes with saunders will help you get in that test mode, but seeing that this is the fourth time taking it.. i dont know how much that will help... and remember.. dont try to kill yourself thinking you gonna know everything the NCLEX throws at you.. 9 times out 10 you wont. but i wish you many blessings this time around.
  6. the ati is ok.. my score was 64 and i still passed nclex with 85 questions...and i seen a thread when someone had a 50 on the predictor and still passed nclex, so the ATI is pretty iffy NCLEX predictor.
  7. MASLOW HIERARCHY OF HUMAN NEEDS.. U NEED TO KNOW THIS IF THE QUESTION DOES NOT FIT INTO THE ""ABC'S" i can not stress enough why you need to know this!!!
  8. dont try to over study.... you will not know everything on NCLEX.. the kaplan book is good...but try to get a program cd that can be used on the computer that offers good rationals.. like saunders 4th edition and i hear there are some other good ones as well.. studing exteremly hard for a test when you have no clue what on it can send anyone into a whole.. god bless you on your future endeavors.
  9. :clphnds::ancong!:
  10. thanks to all.. and what does bankrupt have to do with anything when its the students thats paying for everything any how... maybe im missing something .
  11. yeah... just rediculous.. to say the state is short on revenue .. you would think they would want nurses to get to work as soon as possible so they can start putting taxes into the state. one day the idea will catch on.. i hope for all you cali people.
  12. i didnt take the hesi, so i wouldnt know the comparison. i guess you live in california or one of them other states... yall need to start some sort of petition to get the state board to participate in quick results.. i feel so sorry for you.. the anxiety like to kill me those two days. i had to wait... May God bless you.
  13. yeah....may GOD bless you sweetheart... dont over think.but dont under think niether.. all is fair in love and nclex!
  14. i will try not to make this lengthy but here is my NCLEX-PN Summary- i tested 9/25/09 1. main review tools were Saunders " comprehensive reivew for the NCLEX PN" 4th edition, Kaplan 2010 book "just to know how to figure out how to answers those questions i didnt know! and "anybody up for random fact throwing thread " thank you all you little geniuses for the many neumonics you came up with.. so helpful! and i also took a couple of ATI quizzes. 2. study time.. roughly 2 hours a day for 3 weeks.. and maybe less than that, between, playstation, facebook and myspace, the study time may be a little shorter! LOL... and i was not about to over study.. just like i saw someone or many other people say before.... you have NO CLUE what the NCLEX is going to throw at you. So i was not about to kill myself to try to make sure i knew everything.. i studied the basic systems on my saunders cd (edocrine, gastro, cardio,Neuro) i also did ALOT or everything that had to do with fundamental and mental health nursing, (fundamentals came in handy for all those infection control an some priority questions i had). and of course lab values, and common drugs i have ran across on clinical rotations! 3. number of questions on NCLEX exam.. 85, too many sata's (select all that apply), drop and drag, and multiple choice. 4. My attitude on test day- " all well.. i know what i know, if i dont pass,,, all well.." why, i just never been a person to be nervous about a test, so going in with this mentality (WORKS FOR ME). this and jamming to my music before every test seems to keep the nerves at bay. 5. Pearson vue trick.. worked, got the "famous" pop up an hour after i tested! 6 and for all you ATI predictor people... my predictor score was 64 which equals an 84 percent chance of passing.... 7. my advice.. know lab values, Know Maslow and his lovely heirarchy of human needs, the nursing process and read ALL RATIONALES as you do practice quizzes or test...in the end the NCLEX is still testing whether or not you can critically think (something NO ONE can teach you to do) also... I am a visual learner.. i like to see what i have to do.. and what i have noticed about MYSELF.. the more i see something the better it stays in my head.. and Saunders was good at some of this repetitive nature. and thus that concludes my NCLEX Mission... God Bless others who are still on this very mission!
  15. hey just thought i'd follow up with you.. I Passesd.. whooo hooo
  16. no problem ma'am will do!
  17. Wow.. a truly remarkable story... with GOD ALL things are possible... congrats. Had me feeling like a was watchng one of those feel good movies on lifetime.. lol.. but thanks for the inspiring story. I will keep this in mind when i go to test this week! God bless.
  18. I test friday.. nerves havent kicked in yet.. all my classmates from my class this august have been passing and i been reviewing the best way i know how... but i never been the nervous type about test so maybe it just my persona.. may God bless you and I as we journey on into the NCLEX ZONE!
  19. i have exactly 8 days(from the posting of this post) and couple of hours before i take my NCLEX-PN exam... i have read Kaplan, did very little ATI but i think im gonna squeeze in a couple of more quizzes next week along with the Saunders 4th edition CD ROM quizzes. i've been studying on and off since the last week in august. ( i was one of those students who should have been diagnosed with ADHD, but dont quite meet the qualifications yet. LOL). so i find my self starting on my Saunders CD ROM and magically appearing on facebook and myspace an hour later. ! but i still manage to pull more study time over crusing the web. But due to the fact i cant afford to pay another 330 dollars to retest, i have learned to get my priorites straight. After all that blazzy blazzy, my question is what things should i close in on and be comfortable with before my exam next Friday... thanks in advance!
