Does a Lieutenant or Captain have to be present before the cell door is opened? When can the nurse enter?

If you do start IV's, how often and for what reasons?

What do you call your maximum security area? Do you run sick line there or is that something only the PA's or physicians do?

Is this something you have ever witnessed? Who would you report it to? Could there be retaliation against you if you did report it?

I have applied as an RN to a prison in Toledo, Ohio. They used to use Correctional Medical Services then recently switched to Maxim. I wonder why they changed and how they are to work for.

Does this apply to every inmate or just psych inmates? How do you check?

We are trained our entire career as nurses to respond immediately so chance of survival is optimum but prison is a whole different ballgame. Safety for the patient but also SAFETY for everybody else too.

When an inmate goes into an observation cell, how much of their clothing do they have? If none or very little, how do they get their clothes back?

It sounds like nurses and security can observe the patient constantly. Can the patient also see out of his room to what is going on in the infirmary? Do they have a call button to summon nursing or security for any reason?
