  1. For all those who submitted the essay already: When you go back and check it, are your apostrophes upside down question marks?? They definitely didn't look that way when I posted and submitted the essay! Anyone else?
  2. I haven't either, I figure we may hear more by tomorrow. - By the way, congrats JLSELD and JustJane!!! I was sitting with you both when we first arrived at the interview. Fingers crossed for a happy ending when we hear about the scholarships! Has anyone submitted theirs yet? I'm a madwoman and haven't submitted mine yet for all the editing I'm doing. We hear fairly soon afterwards I think? One of the 'WHC ladies' suggested she thought they had to turn in their decisions to Georgetown by the following Monday! Anyone else hear something definitive?
  3. That's fantastic! Former Japan residents will be well represented in our cohort :) Hopefully the scholarships will follow..
  4. Yay! Congrats everyone, I'll be seeing you in January!!! So excited to be a Hoya!!!
  5. Go Hoyas!!! Heather, I'm so glad to see you made it in too! Pokytrokyt, we were at the same interview- what were you wearing? I was the girl with the theatre background, wearing a suit. Congrats everybody!!! See you in January :)
  6. I'll be there! See you Saturday!!
  7. Hi Lillybean! I just got that email too. It reads to me as though the decisions really will be made by next week. It makes sense- that way WHC is only reading the essays of people who are in the running. So I guess we'll hear by the 7th or so.. Wow!!!
  8. Hi Heather, thank you for your generosity. I'm glad to hear that you loved being at Washington Hospital Center- that's the part I'm looking forward to the most too. 10 more days until mine- have a feeling it'll come quick! I'm glad to hear that yours went so smoothly, and I'll let you know how mine goes. :)
  9. Hi Heather, how did your interview go?! I keep hearing about the sore feet after the tour.. I hope you don't mind me asking, were you asked a number of questions or just one? Have you sent your essay? I've just about finished - it's hard to stop editing :) Jeebs, the website says that decisions are released in early October! Just around the corner...
  10. Is anyone willing to share if the interview process was one on one? Or what question(s) were asked? I've been told that a variety of questions are asked, so it may be different for each person. I'm curious of course.
  11. Hi Heather and mwk7m, Thank you for getting these questions around. I'm interviewing for the ABSN on October 3rd, and I'm working on the scholarship essay now. So nervous!!! But thank you mwk7m for the encouragement. I was very encouraged as well by some of the statistics I heard during my advisement meeting about the percentage of students who receive the scholarship. It was something like 42 out of 55, and given that not everyone can make the commitment to the terms of the scholarship, that was a heartening figure. I'm very nervous because I have 4 classes left to finish this semester, and hope that this won't bump me out. I was advised in earnestness to apply for Spring entry (the pool is apparently smaller), and hope for the best. Heather, have you heard about an interview? Best of luck to everyone!!!
  12. Hi everyone, I have a million butterflies as I review your posts. Thank you for being out here communicating. My interview for the ABSN is October 3rd. I figure it may be a crowded day, but I have classes the other days of the week. What a relief to 'meet' some of the other applicants before the day :) I've heard that a business suit is definitely the way to go, and just wonder what they may be looking for. This will be my first interview for nursing school, and G'Town is the only school I've applied to so far. Intelligent, compassionate, not-taking-drugs...? What does one look for in nursing applicants with such varied backgrounds? I am taking 4 courses this semester, and hadn't considered applying until Fall 2010, until I met with ***** ***** and she was like, "Apply for spring!" It sounded like advice to follow, but as I get closer I'm intimidated that others may be a lot closer to completion already. Would they really accept me with 4 courses left? It's a gamble, and I'm trying to keep morale up. i.e. It's good to take them all in one fell swoop to prepare for the upcoming pace. Ay! Any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated. It's a supportive bunch out there!
