  1. I've known nurses that have joined the reserves in order to get experience. However you want to at least have your ADN before going this route. They were able to get an extra $1500 a month which wasn't bad. From what I understand they were not deployed anywhere as long as they were in nursing school under the program.

    Have you considered home health care. My mom did that for a while. Honestly she didn't like it too much but hey it's an option.
  3. If you love helping people nursing is the way to go. From what I've seen you have to really love what you do. If you are not sure maybe you should do some volunteer work with nurses before jumping into it full swing. My mom has been a nurse for 22 years. I asked her one day if she liked her job. She gave me a giant smile and her face filled with sunshine as she said "I love it."
