Am I Too Old To Go Back To School?
I certainly understand your fears, doubts, etc. I am in my first year of nursing school at age 58. Sometimes I think I am crazy, but I'm doing it!

I would not take math 111 if you already have stats. I aced math 95, but had a new teacher with 111 and I really hit the wall and it affected my gpa. I didn't need it either and now regret taking it! Just a thought.

share13, if I were you, I would go ahead and get your immunizations up-to-date so you're ready to go WHEN they call you.

There was a variety clothing choices at today's PCC essay, but several people were wearing jeans. Only one guy in a suit, and to be perfectly honest, seemed a bit out of place. We were checked in by an administrative assistant and our names were never made public. To identify us, the proctors would have had to look over each of our shoulders, write down our essay number, and then match it to the master list, etc. (Didn't happen!) If you are at all concerned (as I was), wear comfortable business casual (slacks, nice top, etc.).

I emailed the person we are to RSVP for the proctored essay (jscovel) and here is her reply: "You may wear whatever you are comfortable in. We do not have a dress code." I don't think I'll wear a suit, but I will definitely dress professionally.

I was curious about dressing up as well. Didn't even think of it until I saw the thread. I'd love to hear from others about this as well.

How long is average wait to get into nursing school?
I am new to this forum. I have made the decision at age 53 to pursue the nursing degree I wanted before I got married and had children so many years ago. For awhile I have been telling myself that I am too old and the programs are so competitive that I would never get accepted. I've decided that those are lies & I'm determined to make this work. I have many of the prereqs finished and I am enrolled in a CNA school to get some experience and earn a couple more points for application purposes. My questions are: What has been the average wait to be accepted into either Clark or PCC? Would LCC be a good alternative? Are there any other schools nearby? I live in Vancouver. Any advice or wisdom out there? Thanks, Gail
