concorde college in San diego
I am a student @ Concorde San Diego for the LPN program https://allnurses.com/colorado-nurses/concorde-lpn-program-430430.html#post3926763 tsalagicara's post sums up most of my sentiments about my school. The amount of money they demand and the sub-par quality of my education, and the shady business that goes on upstairs and the business department is very demotivating. In the end it truly is about money. I could tell you so many incidents that I've heard and witnessed in the two short months that I've attended this school. I should have went with my instincts, (the school isn't accredited with certain programs, which may cut you short of any goals of continuing education) than let my parents talk me into staying. There are no short cuts to quality. Good luck my dear.

Need help with a decision....
I wouldn't pay much heed to the people who may convince you it's a waste of time. LPN is a nurse, RNs are nurses. I've seen fresh RN's with Masters on the floor being walked through every little thing that newly-grad LVNs know how to do. Why? because RN is theory theory theory. They have the knowledge, but when it comes to applying and practicing, its a whole new field. I've decided to become an LVN and work for a transfer to RN-BSN program because of the work experience and knowledge I'de have gained, and going RN is just going to build on that foundation I've made for myself. With the huge waiting lists in my area, LPN can only help me be just That much closer to my goal. :)

this may be silly...
thank you all for your responses, they're greatly appreciated ^-^ I think I'm just sweating over the small things, to be on the safe side I'll probably pull my teacher aside, or let other students test the waters first again thank you, thank you :']

this may be silly...
I start school on Monday for my AS at Concorde SD and I was wondering if it would be acceptable to bring a laptop during lectures? I am noticably the youngest student in my class. (I popped out of HS early, taking an independent learning program, and my laptop has been my best friend since) and I am extensively computer literate. I tried finding one of my teachers after the orientation, but couldn't catch a hold of them, and I am painfully shy... I have no issues with my laptop being a potential distractions; school is just too pricey to pour money down the sink. Do any teachers ban laptops from the classroom? Any nursing students bring their laptop to class?
