  1. any tips for interviewing?? My first job ( peds as well, ive been here a year and a half) i had done my clinicals and preceptorship there so i was familiar with the hospital and people so i was already comfortable with them. I heard i shouldnt offer my resume or letters of recommendation unless they specifically ask for it. Is that true?
  2. Thanks guys! so paper charting huh? oh well lol better than NO charting because of NO job! :typing hope to see you all around!
  3. I got an interview! YAY! im super excited and super nervous at the same time. Its PEDS so its all good :) To anyone who works at wolfson, can u tell me a little about the hospital? uniform? Charting (computer/hand)? PICU RN/Patient ratio? thanks for the info!
  4. I spoke to HR and they told me that my application hasnt been rejected theres just no reply and so i told her if there was a way i can have a phone number or email to the manager or specific hiring recruit for that position and she told me they were not allowed to disclose that information. what do i do? I wish i could just go over there but im in miami would it be wierd if i call the hospital and just ask to be transferred to the ER? and just see if the manager is there?? or is that stalkerish? lol i really want the job. I absolutely love pediatrics and i have a real passion and knack for it. i wish i had the ER managers email
  5. I thought that was so wierd too! i just started applying for jobs since im moving to a new town and that came up as one of the documents i had to sign! a credit check?! really?! I have no issues but i dont see why my employer would need to run a credit check. Why is that?
  6. Are they normally hard to hire or is there just a hiring freeze? I just applied for the ER position and i am SO excited about the chance of working there! I work at the "wolfson" of Miami and really want to stay in pediatrics!
  7. I am in the same position I have applied everywhere and have not heard anything back yet. My boyfriend works for the fire department and whenever he passes by the hospitals he asks and they employees say they ARE hiring but for some reason there is some sort of hiring freeze. I have been trying desperately to find a job! I have an excellent job down here in miami but am moving to jacksonville to move in with my soon-to-be husband. Hopefully something happens soon. Good luck to all of you! p.s. to the new nurse who passed her NCLEX, CONGRATS! I was in your shoes a little over a year ago. please dont get discouraged, its hard but if you put yourself through the challenge of nursing school and passed ur test then keep trying! you obviously have the smart! dont let this hiring freeze keep you from doing something you love! ill be praying for all of us!
  8. congrats on getting the job! ive been waiting a month to hear for the er position and im dying to get it! im moving there from miami in september with my boyfriend who works for the fire departmen. we got an amazing apartment at magnolia village which is on bartram road 4 miles from wolfson! they are huge apartments and everything is gated with access only with a keycard. rent is only 874 a month for a 2 bedroom! good luck! and please let me know if you know anyone who can help me get that job! i work pediatrics down here and would love to stay working peds!
