hey guys, i finished my lpn course and am now waiting to hear back from the state board since i just finished paying for the nclex. my question is being that i have something on my record, i know this is going to be a longer process. i don't have any felonies, misdemeanors, but i do have an arrest dated back in 2007. i was 18, dumb and stupidly waited until i was a legal adult to be dumb but i am past that now. i sent the board all the information including recommendations and such and just wanted to know if anyone else went through a similar process and what the result was. any suggestions, stories, would be greatly appreciated!

That's awesome, I'm happy you like it. I was doing like pre-reqs at PBCC a year and a half ago and didn't really have my priorities geared toward school...now I'm am so ready, it's my number one priority to get in and will be my number one to do good and excel so I'm just anxious. But within two weeks I will have everything done and I'll be turning my registration packet in! Not going to let anything stop me.

Well you definitely gave me some relief about the boosters...I just want to get in so bad. At first I was trying for August, then October now January...things always come up but I'm finally so close to being done with registration and I'm just going to stay as positive as I can and nothing will come up, I will be going for April. I know you said you started in October, how are you liking it?

Yep, went to orientation, passed the Teas, passed the background, got my physical. It's just three more shots (hepatits, varcella and the mmr) and I was just worried about the boosters cause they said you have to wait and I'm not trying to wait anymore time then I am. And I have to take and the drug test and pretty much the only thing that's keeping me back is money. Is the drug test a urine test? I hate peeing in a cup, lol.

Yeah, I kind of expected it, I asked the counselor a couple of weeks ago and she said there were only 3 spots left for January, I'm just trying my hardest to get everything done. It's fine if it's April, I just don't want it to be any later than that. Just going to stay positive. So you got all the shots, even the boosters at the same time?

Hey, I have a question. Did you have to get the booster shots before you were accepted into the program like how you have to get the Heptatis Booster, etc? I just wanted to know because that's going to take awhile since you have to wait. I'm almost done with everything and I'm still hoping I can get in for January...just have a couple more shots, just don't have the money at the moment!

I know you said you were doing the WIA program for your LPN, do you know if you can also do that if you have financial aid or is that only for if you're unemployed and need assistance? I need all the assistance I can get! Lol.

I asked them if having an arrest record would be a problem (something dumb I did when I was 18, don't know why I had to wait to be dumb when I was of legal age, haha), they clarified that having a conviction may be a problem but plenty of people have an arrest record and I would probably just need to provide more information after my background check comes back "Not Clear". I'm just wondering if anyone else went through this and what you had to provide or if it became an issue, I just don't want anything to get in the way of me going to school!' Also, were the immunizations a pain to get? Did you get them all at once or what? I'm thinking I had most of them done but do some expire?

Atlantic Tech, McFatter, Sheriden. I was just curious at everyone's experience at any of these technical schools taking the LPN program. I am going to attend Atlantic Tech in January '10 and just like an idea of what's coming ahead. I'm so excited about school but how are the classes, the teachers, the studying, clinicals? WIA Program? What is that exactly?

I am actually going to be going there in January '10, so you're a little ahead of me. I'm trying to save up money because I really just want to focus on school and not spread myself too thin. Can I ask you if you're going to be working while going?
