  1. Bev told me that if you checked both options and you scored well enough they will let you chose between online or campus-based.
  2. Holy moly that’s a lot of applicants. I take my TEAS and Kaplan 7/25.
  3. I’m in my mid 30’s. Been an LPN for 11 years now. I took the Kaplan transitions and TEAS in 2009 and got average scores without studying at all. I really need to bump my scores up this time around. I’m scheduled to take my exams mid July. My biggest barrier will be the transitions test since I’ve been in a speciality for 10 years now...
  4. I psych myself out still...I have a little over one year experience, but I still get nervous at times, especially with skills such as caths. Some days are awesome and I go home feeling confident and happy and other days I go home thinking I messed every thing up!
  5. First and foremost-CONGRATS!! I work at a rather large clinic. The only advice I can give is to continue learning! Take extra classes, research online, refer to your old classroom books. I feel that since I graduated and started working clinic right away, I did not get the experience in most nursing skills such as IV's, tube feedings, caths, and what not. I like my clinic job, but I feel that I lack many skills I would have learned if I started in a SNF or hospital.
  6. I feel so dumb. It has been one rough week. I work at a clinic, so we do not get a whole lot of action. We maybe get an IV once a week if that-so I do not have a lot of experience. First, the pt was to receive 2 bags of LR's. First bag ran and it ran all the way out. The pt's husband yelled at me and said he was calling for me...anyway...a super nice doctor got the second bag going without having to d/c and poke the pt again.. and to make matters even worse, when I went to disconnect the IV I didn't close off the line. So when the cath tip came out it squirted the pt in the face...I felt like a jacka$$. I just can't get over it....I just keep running it thru my head over and over again. Ahhh, I feel so dumb...I feel horrible. I mean the poor pt was sick and here I make a stupid mistake and squirt her in the face...So some IV tips would be appreciated
