  1. lilxnay31- As long as you check for the good pop AFTER it says "delivery successful' in your pearson vue account, you should be fine. I checked several times over the two days. CHeck it later today, if it is still there, I am sure you are fine!! Everything I have read about this trick is that those who did fail really did go to the CC page for payment, and those who do not are not allowed to re-register. When I left, I was SURE I had failed. I say it was one of the worst experiences of my life. The "good pop up" helps to relieve anxiety while waiting for your license. The trick does work for Cali testers. What does not work is Quick Results, which is when you can get your UNofficial results 48 hours after the exam. It works!!! I am proof!!!!
  2. It does work! Took my nclex on the 6th.... found out about PVT on the 7th... got the good pop up when I tried to register.... checked it several times.. still got the good pop... and today got my unofficial results that I really did pass!!!
  3. I know Georgetown has a shuttle that runs from Rosslyn to Campus.. it would be nice to just walk to campus though..... Allimar.. I am stressed too! I need to hear about this scholarship before I decide what loans to apply for.....
  4. Yes I got the email from Samuel as well. I cant wait either! Moving will be so interesting....
  5. Good idea Hannah! I just joined :) I cant wait to just get out there and start this program :)
  6. Hunderdahl - Are you pretty set on living in georgetown? I hear Arlington is a good option as it is just across the bridge and cheaper.. I would like to pay under a 1000.. and am willing to look at surrounding areas for cheaper rent.. as long as it is close to a metro :)
  7. yeah i pretty much have no clue when to fly out. my last class here is 12/17..... i was thinking right after christmas or right after new years...
  8. Beach it - Yes, dont let it affect your confidence... its probably just that they had had so many people who were qualified that they had to make hard choices... i think an email or letter with a "thank you" for the whole process, and state that you would be available to take a spot in the program even at the very last minute could be effective (someone posted this idea in the thread a few days ago).. and really, why not? You have nothing to lose and you never know what could happen.
  9. Lizzylou! Yes! That happened to me.. i had a minor freak out.. but it has to be something on their end,. not ours :) Don't worry... I am sure will be completely fine! Beach it - I don't think your GPA is the issue at all.... If you were invited, it means you have everything you need. Maybe you just need a little something extra that will show them your passion and desire for nursing.
  10. Naz0818 - Yes, I definetly remember you!! You are the one from michigan... CONGRATS! It will be nice to see a (semi) familiar face in january.. :) I did ask you about UDM.. that was the first school i heard back from - GU is my top choice, so even if I do not get the scholarship, i will most likely still attend. I have spoken with ALumni who say its worth it (even with the high tuition). Maybe we should start a facebook group for our class. Anyone interested?
  11. Naz0808- I was there on the 22nd!! :) Congrats...! I did not get an email saying they received it.... but if you go back to the email with the link to the application, you will see your essay posted in the boxes.. I have checked the app like 3 times, and my essay is in the boxes everytime i access the application again. Beach It - I agree with Allimar... experience is huge... when did you graduate PSU? How much real world experience do you have since u graduated? I dont have health care experience, but i have great post-grad experience that I think made the biggest difference in me getting in. In fact, I think it was key. I had a strong admissions essay and a strong resume. If you got an interview, I think it clearly means you are qualified!! If you could do some really awesome volunteer work between now and the next application round, I would (depending on how much you want to get in).. You have the grades for it.. thats clearly not the issue. It might just be a an issue of getting more experience.. the kind of experinence that will set you apart in a crowd of people....
  12. JustJane - I totally understand... 70k is a lot of money and cost of living is high! Let me know what you decide though! I am from Sacramento - not to far from you. Do you think you will bring a car? Im leaving mine behind. If you drive and want company, let me know...! Thats a long drive. Otherwise i was planning on buying a one-way ticket. :) Have you applied to Duke? I though their next application date was next July.. a long way to wait. I did get accepted into Marymount in Arlington, which was my backup. SImilar program length, and cost is 44k as opposed to 70k....... I am crossing my fingers for the scholarship as well!! ahhhh so much waiting!!
  13. Just Jane- Have you been accepted to any other schools? Im totally going. GU is my first choice and could not be more excited. What is holding you back? Apply for the scholarship.. see how it goes! What part of cali are you from? I too will not be bringing a car.. so i will be relying on the metro. I think Arlington is a good bet if it is just across the bridge! I personally cannot wait!!
  14. Yea I am moving from California to DC, so I will need to find an apt and all that jazz...I would be interested in apartment hunting for sure!
  15. Hunderdahl- I recognize your name from my interview.. your interview was right before mine. Congrats on getting in! Is GU your first choice?
  16. Yeah that sounds about right. From old postings on tha Fall 09 threads, seemed like they waited a good couple of weeks to hear about the scholarship after they were notified of acceptance. Im guessing 2-3 weeks from tomorrow.
  17. For me, I do not want to bring my car, so I have to rely on the metro - THAT should be interesting!!
  18. COngrats Phoenix!!! Lets all keep in touch and stay updated.. where are you from? (phoenix?? :) ) Anyways, are you moving a long distance to DC? Im coming from cali.. cant wait!
  19. JLSELD- I went on 9/22! I am soooooo happy!!! :) CONGRATS! I am ecstatic! JLSELD.. where are you from? Im from california. What session did you go to?
  20. Dont be bummed yet! I literally just got it! You never know, they may still be sending out emails!
  21. I just got my acceptance letter!!!!!!!!!!! Sooo excited!!!!!!
  22. pokytrokyt - i was accepted to mu for spring 2010 as well. i am also waiting to hear from gu. what interview day did you go to? i went on the 22nd of september. i am anxious to hear from gu. i think your facebook page is a good idea. is gu your first choice?
  23. Not too sure! My last class out here is Dec 17th, and classes start January 11th.. so I am nervous about finding a place to live! DO you live in Virginia?
  24. Hey people! I just got an acceptance into Marymount for the ABSN in SPring 2010!! So excited! I am from California so will be moving for classes... Is anyone else in for sping 2010?? Fall applicants>>> How are you liking the program? Any suggestions on where to live? Is the shuttle from the metro reliable to get to school on time? Gosh, so much I do not know, any suggestions would be appreciated!!
  25. JustJane - I forget the name of the bus.. when i got off the plane i went to information and they told me where to go to catch the bus. It dropped me at Roslyn Metro Station, and I made my way from there.... if the bus you named drops you at your hotel, I would take that one. The one I caught from Dulles was $10, and the one I caught back to Dulles was $3.10.. kinda weird... but thats they way it went. :) Metro was really easy. I took a cab to the interview to assure I would not be late.. Good luck, and have fun!
