Nursing- The material is not difficult, it is learning to think critically to take the test which are modeled after taking your NCLEX. In nursing classes there is so much work, reading, and with little time. You learn very quickly how to become the most efficient. I love nursing school! Pre-nursing is just a right of passage to something so much greater and rewarding!:) Best Wishes to you!

I was rejected based on testing scores the first time around. I did remedial work/got tutored in the area I was weak in. I then took a class for fun to keep sharp. Retook the entrance test, used study guides, researched anything on the net to get tips about that test and reapplied! I am now in nursing school just finished mid-terms of my first semester. Its extremely challenging and Im so blessed to be here, persuing my dream. Just stay focused and keep on keeping on YOU can reach your goals. DO NOT GIVE UP on yourself. Also consider applying to more than 1 school, "dont put all your eggs in one basket". Good luck to all!

Your going to think im crazy but after looking at this further there are 2 parts to this. The body surface area has to be calculated 1st. I researched this on the internet BSA and there are several formulas to figure this out and they have different input calculators to do so. I never found a traditional mathmatical equation that I could do long hand. Does this make sense?

The calculation is on pg 95 of our text, Chp 10

Decisions, decisions..What is a girl to do? It is hard to find comfortable good fitting shoes for me too! However, I bought both pairs at JC Penney outlet. One pair is a Converse white leather sneaker; extra comfy and the other is a nursing shoe by Rockers. There was a big sale that day and all the nurses were there grabbing them up! I had to try several pairs on before finding the style that was comfortable. Just keep in mind its about comfort not style Good luck!

CPR classes are next week! The person in charge has sent out her letter and schedule. I understand in order to get the emails you need to be linked to the Dallas Center to get info. This can be requested from IT Help desk. Hope everyone's Holiday was great and relaxing! I did go down to Majors over the break and they could not provide a list of the books in the package to me. Lindsay, There are 2 books: Pharmacology for Nursing Care-7th Edition and Pharmacology Sucess:A course review applying critical thinking to test taking. ISBN are not on my p. work either, but I did find them when typing the titles in on a search. They both should be at Majors I bought the second one on Amazon and borrowing a J2's book for the first. J2 said that we dont even use the big book but 1 x and the Pharm Succes book is VERY helpful. Hope this helps:wink2:

Good morning! My advisor/teacher said we have class on Thursday that week.

I am taking Pharmacology- with Tapler and Nursing Assessment-with Walls( Baylor Rehab is what my white advisement sheet says). I am going to school Monday and Tuesdays. I will take Concepts & Clinicals Comp. in the fall, with 1 other course and I hope to take a course this summer online. At some point I want to go full time, as my youngest (4yr) will start elementary next year.

I was in Group 1-PT, my sheet was brown, and we met in the same room we started in.

Elizabelle, That is what I was told as well. Class is on Mondays and she said leave Thurs. open for 4-5 times. (test, misc) It sounds like ours is opposite of Butterflies. The sheet in our folder about NURS 3614 explains the situation. Today was just information overload...my head is numb!! Those of you taking Patho now-where do you park? Does anyone use the shuttle? So now hunker down and study for finals girls!! We can then finish our shopping list for our nursing gear!!

There are some classes online starting 2nd semester I show 3. That is the semester with 16 hrs! I believe we do have the same schedule with regards to breaks as the other students. Cheating is an ethical issue Period the END; there are no gray areas. If you personally witness it -You must report it. These are people who are going to care for patients, administer medication, make judgement calls. Are these the kind of people you want to work with or care for possibly your family member?

Yes, titer has to be done regardless. They just draw blood and run the test as Elizabelle said. Results are next day or 2 days tops.
