  1. We do all our charting on OBIX right now, we have completely done away with paper charts...we had a triage form that had all the vital info on it (Gs and Ps, immunities, RPR, HIV, blood type, risk factors) but we got rid of it cold turkey! I feel like I am fumbling through report not having even the MOST vital of information in front of me, much less labor progress and labor events! I will definitely look into that review of flowsheets--I am sure it will help!! It would be nice if you could "star" something as you were charting that you know would be important to include in report and it would print out on some sort of "sign off sheet" at the end of the shift... I love the OBIX for surveillance, especially for pit patients who need q15 min UC and FHR assessments--I hated going in the room every 15 when the patient was trying to rest and rustling the strip all around and trying to see it in the dark...so much better!! Thanks for your help! I hope it works out for you as well!
  2. Oh! Thank you! I'll check that out next time I am at work. We have had OBIX for about 2 months now. We are a relatively small unit (4 LDR beds) and the transition has not been smooth. We used a paper flowsheet writing narratives along with shorthand for FHTs, UCs and vital signs. (Very time consuming!) I think that once everyone gets used to the process, and finding where everything is on the flowsheet. it will be so much easier and time saving. I like it so far, and feel that it will be very beneficial to our unit. I am just a little confused at report time. Thanks for your input. I am looking forward to getting into a groove with this system, and love anything that makes my job easier so I can give better patient care. Thanks again!
  3. Hi all! We have recently changed over to a paperless OBIX system of labor charting. There is a large learning curve, but we have found that what we struggle with the most is shift-to-shift reporting without a paper chart in which to refer. Personally, I feel that my report is often disorganized and possibly incomplete. If there are any OBIX users out there who have any hints--or better yet, a cheat sheet--for report, it would be very appreciated. Thank you!
  4. I made my own sheet that I find really helps me in getting through all the paperwork! Other nurses on my unit use it as well. I can't find a way to attach it to this message, but let me know if you would like me to email it to you. I think it would be pretty easy to edit it to your own postpartum protocol (ie frequent vitals, meds, paperwork etc...)

This is what we do as well. We roll-em out into the hall and then set them up, then roll-em back in the room when needed. (We have very small LDR rooms).
