LKMM, Nope, I didn't see one. I just assumed we had to put a deposit down to reserve a seat. NCSTATE - I actually submitted my application on the last day possible, so I'm not sure if that's the reason why the last batch was sent out last Friday.

Did you guys have to put a deposit down or just send the letter back saying we are attending? Just making sure.

That's great to hear that I'm not the only one commuting! I may move next year, but for the time being, I want to stay in Raleigh, at least for a year.. maybe our last year I will find a place in CH. It's already November, and I don't even want to deal with packing/moving/finding a place to live in a month. The parking passes at my school are around $350 and it rises every year so as long as it is in that range, I hope I can get one! I am also going to sign up for Nov 30th pre-orientation session- I can't wait to meet everyone!!

I have been waiting to see if I was accepted to Chapel Hill for a very long time since I have to put in my Georgetown deposit by this weekend ($900). LOL funny thing. We've been chatting on a different forum on this website and we got in trouble for writing the facebook group name and such. I would search our school name, spring 2010, absn, and make sure it's the group you are looking for, not people. Hope this makes sense!

Jeter Chick, I like the tudor house that you posted. When will it be available? I wouldn't mind signing a 2 year lease. Let me know. I would like to bring my dog, but it's not mandatory that I do. I will also pay a little extra to have him. Can you get more information on that?

Worst case scenario- I would pay around $1500 including utilities with only 1 roommate in Arlington, VA. The apartments there are only 2 bedrooms so it would be pretty difficult to have 3 people living there. About the place I posted earlier- if it's right near campus, I don't think its expensive at all. Especially since Georgetown is very expensive to live in. The place I posted would be ~940 so possibly up to $1000 including utilities--> with 5 people living there! My budget is between $900-$1500. A 5 minute walk to campus would be nice, but I also don't mind walking 30 minutes. It just depends what is available. Like I said earlier, I feel that the really good deals wouldn't be available in December, it would be more like June-August.

I posted a discussion on the fb page. So far I think WLJ2009 likes it, I like it, and you like it! and there's a basement apartment available if more people want to move in the house. I think it's separate bills though and probably more expensive! I guess the hardest part is to convince the landlord to hold it for us for 2 months--

I also forgot to mention, I can drive to go check out the places one weekend and take pictures and such... just to make sure. I think I may be the closest (4 hours). I was just there the other weekend visiting my sister, but it was before we found out we were accepted. Anyway, it's not a big deal for me to go to D.C.

Ok, I found a place that is about a 7-10 minute walk to campus. In my earlier posts, I stated that I was looking for 1-2 roommates but I saw this ad, and couldn't pass it up! I will also NOT be bringing my dog, since most of the places are not pet friendly (it is easier that way). I emailed the owner and I am waiting to hear back. Yeah, I was thinking hypothetically worse case scenario if I didn't get the scholarship.. It will be a HUGGEE loan! I was told to try for federal loans instead of private loan.. not sure? What does everyone think? Yeah, there are shuttles that run from Rosslyn to Campus. It would be nice to just walk 5 minutes to campus though, that would be awesome. It just seems like August would have more availabilities right near campus compared to December -- And the fact that we will be moving during the middle of winter!

Just Jane, that does sound pretty sketch.. Definitely be careful if you do decide to go with the free rent. We only have about 2 1/2 months to find a place to live and get all the loans out that we need. I am getting pretty stressed out since I've never had to pull out a loan before. If anyone has any suggestions, I would definitely appreciate it. Also, I hope you guys are aware that the metro does NOT run directly into Georgetown. The closest metros are Rosslyn (Arlington) and Foggy Bottom. It is still a good 15-20 minute walk to campus once you get off.

Jeter Chick, Thanks, who did you call to find out? I called L.A. and she said that results would be given later last week (which I didn't hear anything). I was also told that you could be accepted into the ABSN program and not the Direct Entry program, so I'm still crossing my fingers because it might be someone else they accepted instead of me. I will call tomorrow and try to find out! What number were you in the interview? I was number 2, if that helps I will still attend if I don't get into the Direct Entry

Beach it, Did you have any other type of experience either volunteering or working as a CNA or EMT? I have been CNA certified for the past 2 years, and they really seemed to like that. When I walked into my interview, they told me that I had a tremendous amount of experience so I think that experience is a key aspect. Naz0818- I did not get an email after I submitted my essay. Did you?

Ok, if you are a direct entry candidate and had the same question that I did, we will hear hopefully by the end of the week if we are selected! (just got off the phone)

I thought I heard one of the girls who came in to the interview (to answer questions and talk about her experience) that the parking at the WHC was free.. I hope I didn't hear wrong!

Just an FYI, I know a couple of people who are in the program right now and they all live in Arlington, VA (not actually in Georgetown). It's very close and all you have to do is cross the bridge and the places in Arlington are cheaper than the ones in Georgetown. I actually have walked across the bridge and it wasn't too bad (I might get a bike though). I just have to find a pet friendly place so I can bring my dog I will also probably take my car so that I can use it to get to the WHC for clinicals.

Hello Everyone!! I got accepted to the program as well I applied for the Direct Entry program, but my acceptance letter was only for the ABSN program. Any other Direct Entry applicants in the same boat? If so, do you know when we will find out? Thanks in advance! Congratulations to everyone who got accepted. Hopefully I will see you there in January (depending on the scholarship)!!

I took the metro to Rosslyn. It wasn't difficult at all. Georgetown has a shuttle that goes from Rosslyn to main campus. It was only about a 10 minute walk once you get off. Good Luck!!
