  1. I was wondering what the average pay rate is in Jacksonville. I'm relocating in the next couple of months. I have 5 years experience. Thanks!
  2. I have an Ultrascope. I love it! Not only do I get a good auscultation, but you can pick the picture in the ultrascope, which is a good icebreaker for Pedi patients.
  3. Yeah, I keep hearing mixed reviews about HCA hospitals. He got my number from my resume on CareerBuilder. I'm a Pedi nurse moving to Jacksonville, FL because my husband is Navy, so no benefits is definitely not a problem! But if I could get a Pedi job paying $30+/hour I'd be a happy camper!
  4. Have any of you heard about a company called All About Staffing? If so, what do you think of them? I just got a phone call from them, and the guy said he's going to look around in the area I'm relocating to and see what he can find for me...
  5. Thanks for the info! The whole rotating shifts thing definitely wouldn't work for me. Especially if my husband deploys, plus we'll have a newborn when we get there! So I'll need to stick with one shift, days hopefully! Well, I'm glad to hear that you've had calls MSNorBUST. It gives me hope of finding a job quickly! We should get a definite transfer date by next month, and then I'll apply for my FL license so hopefully I can have it in hand by the time I get there. I hope yours arrives soon so you can get to work!
  6. Thanks! Do you, by chance, know how to apply to NAS Jax?
  7. And also remember... if they give you a scenario where "You walk in the patient's room and find them unconscious... blah blah..." what would you do question. Definitely remember your ABCs like the other poster said, but also DON'T FORGET TO CALL A CODE. That's important too! Lots of people forget that step about calling for help. I know it's a small suggestion, but it's an important step!
  8. Just tell your Sunday school class that you cared for a patient the other day who really needs prayers, but you can't give any further info due to privacy act. That way, no violation and you can still ask them to pray for the patient.
  9. Hi all. So I'll be relocating from Texas to Jacksonville probably in January due to husband's military transfer. I was just wondering if someone could tell me how the job situation looks over there, and/or how difficult it would be to be hired. I keep hearing that jobs are scarce... is that true? Here are my stats: Nursing 4 years, all Pediatrics RN-BSN CPN (Certified Pediatric Nurse) Thanks for any info!
