  1. good luck. i remember looking at what to do because I was positive i'd be failing out of my 3rd or 4th semester. What ya gotta look out for is other schools not accepting you because you failed out of whatever school. I'm not trying to tell you to walk away completely or anything; nobody can take away your dreams. But best of luck to you. I'm sure that all of us have thought at points that we were going to fail. Best of luck to you.
  2. I'd call them. Just shows that you're interested in the job. I know I'm partial to us nurses but I'd be happy that they took the initiative to call me up if I were them. Kinda shows that you want that job more than somebody that doesn't call.
  3. I wish I knew the commitment that it takes to be a RN. I had worked at a hospital for a while prior to going to nursing school and thought that anybody could do it. You quickly realize after giving up time with your friends, family, and other things that if you don't have to have this job; you're not going to succeed. That being said though, nursing school was a few of the best years of my life and I wouldn't change anything. Not to sound cheesy but I think you get out of it what you put into it.
  4. I think it depends on where you are. I had a helluva time finding a job and I was able to provide references of ex-instructors, my former place of employment, etc... at least where I am (outside of Milwaukee, WI), it sucks trying to find a different job as a RN.
  5. I've used half.com a lot. It's always been great for me. I think over the years I saved myself at least 4-500 bucks in books.
  6. Good luck. I spent 70 hours in the cath lab during my schooling, had 5 years of ACLS and ECG, and was on the cardiac floor working various roles for a total of 9 years prior to graduation. Even with that they wanted more experience. I say go for it. It may be a harder transition later but from my experience, when you go to the cath lab, you never leave
  7. I've never given it with two hands. Like you said, dart it in, aspirate, then inject.
  8. Yeah, going along with what the people above me said-you need to know how many mcg/ml or mg/ml before you can figure out how fast to titrate that. And like what Becky said above me, I don't think that 4 is right. There are 1000 mg/mcg so taking that into account, 7740/1000= 7.74 mg/hr. Hope that helps.
