LVNs training RNs???
you need to realize that not all lvn/lp{n's are like that one, some even know as much if not more than the new rn grads. please don't lump all together. i'm an lpn and have been for 5 yrs. and i'm about 1yr. away from my rn and myself have trained multiple rn's who have many questions and still rely on me and other lpn's for info. just because your degree is better doesn't mean your better, as i also know many rn's that are bad nurses and make multiple mistakes in other words drop the high and mighty attitude and do what you know is right by wearing your gloves and knowing the right info.

What a blow to my ego
if i were you i would give it right back, but in a professional way. "i don't like giving report to old crotchity nurses who don't remember what it was like to be a student." or throw in a few choice words if that'll make her feel better. stick up for yourself and maybe she'll respect you;)

Mom thinking about going back to nursing school... NEEDS ENCOURAGEMENT!!!
yes you can do it!! thats what everyone keeps telling me and i'm in a similar situation. the first time i went back to school was for my LPN my 1st child was 1yo and had seizures, but i did it and no one suffered to badly for it. now i'm 32 my second child is now 3yo and i've been working on my RN via excelsior for the last few years. it is hard but so worth it. good luck to you.:spnngwlcm:

Charting Bloopers
here's another for you all- we have an MD that comes in and when he's having a bad day and is mad writes orders like: tell administration to thin chart. or even better: find her ted stockings. nicely put, but couldn't you ask us instead of writing such weird orders

Charting Bloopers
at the end of my third 16 hr.(3p-7a shift) shift in a row I had mistakenly written an exerpt something like this: Res. slept well...stated she had a great night dancing with her husband... mind you it was the middle of the night and she was in rehab with a fresh hip and nwb status.:smackingf

Nurses with depression
I have battled with depression since I was 12/13yr. old also and have been on and off meds for years. off its uncontrollable and you don't know how much until you start failing classes because you can't concentrate or your family tells you "get back on your meds plleeeeease!" some combos are horrible I did zoloft with wellbutrin and ended up with no feelings at all....not happy not sad not anything but zoned out. good luck to you and with the right combo you can do it. don't feel bad at being a depressed person there are many of us out here. at my job its unbelievable at the support I receive from most co-workers. remember your not:::aln:
