New grad rn in las vegas, nevada
It's a national exam so you would not have to take it again, but you would need to transfer your license. So if looking out of state is something you are willing to do, all you would need to do is find out that state's requirements to transfer :)

New grad rn in las vegas, nevada
First of all, congratulations on graduating! When it's so hard to find a job because we are new grads it is easy to forget the accomplishment. I feel the same way though- I'm lucky to get a rejection email. And on top of it all I hear that after 6 months in Vegas you are not considered a new grad anymore, so you're not eligible for a new grad position AND you still may not have any experience. I mean, there is not ONE new grad program out here and EVERY position requires at least one year I feel stuck. And the worst part is that I KNOW I am a dedicated employee and a good nurse. The only problem is no one cares to give me a chance.

New grad rn in las vegas, nevada
Yeah, I figured that. I actually recently moved to Vegas from Massachusetts for my boyfriend who relocated for a job, so moving isn't really an option for me. Guess I may resort to flipping burgers after all! Just kidding.... maybe.

New grad rn in las vegas, nevada
I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Nursing in May of 2009 and passed the NCLEX RN in July. I have been searching everywhere for a facility in the Las Vegas area that is willing to hire a new graduate and have had no luck at all. I can't even find ONE upcoming new grad program. It is very discouraging. Has anyone else in the area had this same problem or does anyone have any advice or inside information that I may be missing? Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated :redpinkhe

75 Questions on NCLEX, pass or fail?
I took my NCLEX two days ago. While going through the questions, there were many drugs and diseases on there that I had never heard of, and I began to realize that I was guessing on a lot of questions. Needless to say, when it shut off at 75 questions, I almost had a heart attack. I was CERTAIN I had failed. I left the testing center wondering what I had just done, and why didn't I just study harder? (And I practiced with hundreds of questions by the way....) I was so depressed over the next couple of days, crying and pretty much giving myself an ulcer (and quite a few breakouts!). When I checked my quick results after 48 hours.... I had passed!? The NCLEX was awful and if I had had to bet my life on it, I would have said that I failed. For those of you that just took it, only to come home and google "Fail NCLEX 75 questions" (as I did), I hope that my story will offer you some hope, as I DID pass!! :wink2: Alexis, RN
