HI,does anyone know what are the steps in applying for an H1B? i have already an employer and the one processing my application is an agency.i'm quite confused bec.she told me last week that i have been approved already in Labor but now she eamiled me that they are still waiting for the result from the department of labor.where do i get my temporary work pemit?is it from labor?correct me if i'm wrong,the first thing to be done is to apply in department of labor?for what?then whats the next step.thank you

Hi! could you help me with this matter.I am on a visitors visa right now and have passed the California Nclex exam. i am applying for an endorsement in Washington but sad to say Washington Department of Health would not process my endorsement since i dont have my license no.I cant get my license from california since i dont have my SSN but a friend of mine told me that i could apply for a TIN instead of SSn and California BON would accept it and will issue my license but the problem is i called IRS and they said i am not qualified to get a TIN but how come the friend of my friend was able to get one when we are in the same status?he said i have to go ta a notary public,do you have any idea on how to go about it.thank you

Hi!we are almost in the same situation,but in my case i just arrived last july. i have an agency which i paid 13,500k for my green card petition but which i know will still take a couple of yrs,all that i'm hoping is to have an employment authorization so that i will not go back to Phil.anymore. i'm just soo worried after reading all these threads.my agency told me that that they have one applicant last jan. and has been issued a work permit or rather an employment authorization document last april and is now working,and i really saw her in the facility.i am not hoping that my green card will be processed bec.i know that this will never happen soon after thorough browsing and reading in the net but i'm hoping that i can be given an employment authorization before my tourist visa ends by jan.,by the way i'm here in seattle.but upon reading your thread,i'm just worried bec.its almost 6mos.now and u haven't received ur ead yet.what did ur lawyer told you?when did you apply for your adjsutment of status and ead? my agency didn't give me an aos and ead application form,just i-140 and application for permanent employement,do u think i have to ask them that?ur not going back to phil.anymore?keep me posted,thanks!

Hi everyone i really need ur advice.I am here in Washington in a tourist visa,I already passed california nclex exam,english exam and i have a visa screen already.I have 3yr.experinece in medical-surgical ward in the PHilippines.Before i left Phil,I already have a contact with an agency here in washington.I will be having an interview with one of the facililty that she is connected to.She said that i am not qualified with H1b visa since i have no specialty in a certain area that is why she's gonna apply for a green card.She will let me pay her 6k for the processing of my papers then 5k each for my family member.I am confused bec.i know that there is no opening for a green card right now,but she told me that i will be given a temp.work permit if my green card is not yet approved so that i could work.Do you think that it would work?bec,as what i have heard only H1b is open right now.then my family do you think i have to let them come here first before applying since they also have a tourist visa already.one more thing the agency told me that i can file my change of status after 1month but as what i know its 60 days,do you have any idea?I know that the agency is asking too much for me,its very costly,but do you think its worth paying?we will be working with the contract next week and i have to pay her before we seal the contract.i am quite sure that the agency is not an illegal one bec.it has been recommended by my cousins friend.please please guide me with this matter asap.thank you
