  1. Mine says I'll start clinicals in Spring 2011 and that it will take me 7 semesters to earn my degree which seems like a lot of semesters to me... maybe they didn't take into account if you finish some of their classes at junior colleges or something.
  2. did you guys get any letters yet? i got my acceptance letter last saturday in the mail and like an email the day before that
  3. ya i already have this. a counselor gave it to me already lol idk i'll figure out my whole schedule thing defiantly before registration
  4. yep it did. did yours? ya im thinking a lot less because i have a lot of the like lower GE classes done already but they're not syncing up on my degree evaluation thing on USFconnect. im gonna ask them about it later when i go up in a few weeks.
  5. so i just got my admittance letter today it says my degree will be completed over the course of seven semesters! three and a half years... :smackingf i thought maybe two and a half tops..
  6. im actually like 3 and a half hours south from san fran. i live in central cali in the valley lol but i guess its closer than you are to san fran lol
  7. well when i applied i didnt have any of the 4 prereqs done at all. im taking 3 of them this semester though. they said they dont really look at gpa. mostly everything else besides the gpa. like as long as you have a 3.0 they'll look at the rest of your application like volunteer work, essay, and recommendation letter. and ya i guess its my first choice since its the only nursing school i applied to for this coming fall. since i didnt have my prereqs done, i couldnt apply to any other nursing school =(
  8. well they had like 300+ nursing applicants and took only like 36 and my gpa wasnt very high. like 3.46 but i didnt a lot of volunteering at hospitals for the past like 6 years. and i have a family member that goes to USF right now would you guys go to USF if you got in?
  9. you emailed them if you got accepted or not? or they just emailed you a confirmation on their own?
  10. so beside the welcome packet, did you get an email before that saying you got accepted? Because I only get the welcome packet email and that online chat email. I still havent received an actual formal acceptance email.
  11. also what was the email you got that said you got in? was it the welcome information email with dates for admitted student visit program? or something else?
  12. well usf is the only school i applied to as a nursing major since i didnt have all my pre reqs done yet and the other schools need all the prereqs done before you can even apply to their nursing program. so im going to usf and im planning on living on campus since ive never had that dorm life experience before well i guess ill see you around up there next fall and hopefully clinicals in the spring lol. i still need to finish some of USF's core requirements in the fall along with physiology
  13. i got in too :D :D :D :D i just got an email saying i got in along with a link to the welcome site and welcome packet in pdf form
  14. so i just got an email saying i got in too :D:D:D:D:D:D you going there for sure next fall? or do you have other choices? i think this is my number one choice lol. are you planning on living on campus?
  15. you emailed them or they emailed you?
  16. where and how did you get a confirmation?!?!?!?!?
  17. haha its been hurting ever since turned it in on january but ya i guess another week wont hurt. jan-feb have been easy waiting for its like march and you know its coming this month so it makes it even harder. well for me anyways oh and i also logged onto that the check your application status and got the same exact thing you did. haha now i really dont know what this means..... >. are we in if we got that thing AND we can log onto usf connect??? ahh only the actual letter can 100% confirm if we got in or not
  18. nvm i can log onto usf connect too lol soo idk what that means about that
  19. what would be my username and pw for usf connect? lol like a student id or something? or did i create one before? i dont remember
  20. ya i got that email thing toooo haha and then i googled it and got back to allnurses.com as usual when i try to google anything about usf anyways ya idk what it means either...i dont want to get my hopes up but i do have a bit of info for everyone out there. i went up to USF to visit my bro and talk to the transfer counselor there and he said out of the 300+ applied like 36 or something like that got admitted =(
  21. ok now im pretty sure i didnt get into the nursing program because my gpa is 3.46 and im still taking anat and micro this sem and then physio next sem. and i havent taken teas....so...im guessing they're just admitting me to take physio at their school. =( and then expect me to apply for the actual nursing program in the spring
  22. i got an acceptance letter from Fresno State saying i got admitted for Major: Pre-Nursing is that the same as Nursing major? I honestly can't remember what major I applied for this school because all the other schools I applied as a biology major. Anyways is Pre-nursing major the same as nursing major? Like did I get accepted to the nursing program? Because I still havent finished all my nursing pre-reqs yet. What does it say on your guy's acceptance letter?
  23. I was planning on transferring or applying for the fall 2010 semester because ya i heard about the no csu's taking spring applicants =( ya part of me wants to stay here where its like easier but the other part really really wants to go to an actual college and experience what everyone else is experiencing. i feel like i'm really missing out on the whole actual college experience =(
  24. So right now I'm in my 3rd semester of junior college and still need to take anatomy, physio, and microbio which are pretty much pre reqs for most csu and other nursing programs i think. What I'm wondering is, can i apply and transfer to a CSU to finish those classes there and then apply for the nursing program when I'm done to that school I transfer too? And if so, would this help my chances of getting in because I went or am going to that school? And also if I wanted to apply to finish those classes at like CSULB what major would I apply as? Also I really want to do this for UCI because a person from the UCI nursing school even messaged me and said I could apply as a bio major and then apply to nursing program when my prereqs are done but i think that might be harder to do? I'm pretty confused. Can you apply to any school as a bio major and take classes that you need for the nursing program and then apply for the nursing program? Or would they force you to take bio major related classes only? I know I could just stay at my junior college and finish my prereqs here but I really want to experience the college life and I'm pretty sad about missing out on freshmen year at an actual college with dorms and stuff because people always talk about how much fun it is and how many new people they meet so ya i really want to just to go UCI or CSULB to finish physio and microbio (I'll have taken anat next semester) and then apply to nursing. Or can you apply to nursing program w/o finishing the prereqs?
  25. ya i have but unfortunately, the rn program here at the community college that i'm currently attending is a lottery based system. so someone with a 2.0 could be called before a person with a 4.0 because they consider that "more fair" here. so people can be in the lottery system and being waiting 2-3 years before their name gets called
