  1. i haven't bought any shoes yet. i have a pair of white keds that will get me through the summer class. i also have a pair of running shoes that may work. i might try those out in the summer class. they have a lot of mesh which will not clean easily, that may not be too smart. i will probably get something new when i do back to school shopping with my kids. i should look for something with a lot of support--i am sure my feet will bother me after 10+ hours of standing. i got the original diagnosis book on amazon, but it won't ship until the first week of august (so i can still change my mind). which one did they recommend at orientation? what programs did you get (or thinking about getting) for the pda? i will add stuff to my pda as needed through the semester. right now, i have the cd to download from the davis drug guide and i bought the clinical nursing skills for the pda. i wonder if that one is really needed? i will also need to get a lab & diag one soon. i have a pda with my phone already, so i am going to try and make that work. i was looking into getting an ipaq (without a phone) for the bigger screen size, but i will wait and see how my mine does first. i have an extended battery for it, so it should make a long day of use. i think i can transfer my downloads to a different pda, if needed...i hope so!
  2. I have gotten my stethoscope, some scrub sets (still need to attach the patches), and all of the required books (the Nursing Diagnoses book should ship the first week of Aug). I am still working on buying/downloading some of the recommended PDA books. I am a little technologically challenged! I really don't want to by a rolling backpack...can you get away without one? I guess those books are pretty thick and heavy! Oh, do you know what exactly comes in our supply kit (billed on the tuition/fee stmt)? I am taking the Friday Clinical class (it is a long drive, but works best with my schedule) and do not have any classes before 9am on M-T, so I won't be in any of your fall classes. I don't really know anyone starting this fall, so it is nice that a post got started -- thanks! To KAYBT6 -- You should meet up with us next year right (2010)? It will be here before you know it!
  3. I will be starting at Tomball this fall also! I am taking the second session of RNSG 1172 (8/3-am class). Are you ready? I am still trying to make sure I have everything I need!
