Good luck on the quiz. I prepared the same way as I did for quiz 1 and did much worse. I don't know that quiz 2 was harder...I have a very poor attitude today. I made an A on the first one and C on second one. At least it's almost over. But the thing I hate most about this class, is that I kinda feel my grade is not a reflection of my work or what I can do. Yes, I could have edited and edited and edited to make it where I thought it was just right. Sometimes I made suggestions that weren't taken and we missed points. I'm just second guessing everything now. And to top waking up to the bad grade on JC, my husband is out of town and my car wouldn't start. I had to call a neighbor to take my girls to school and she is bringing them home. Luckily both of my boys can ride the bus. At least my husband is coming home tonight. After I get through the 2 classes I am taking right now, next week is ALL ABOUT ME!! LOL.

We got our JC grade back and I am not happy. We bombed. Reading the coach's comments makes me think she doesn't like our article so I am wondering why she approved it to begin with. I don't understand how her points add up either and I don't agree with all the points she took off. If I did well on the quiz and the APA paper I could have gotten an A in the class...barely. That one paper blew my A, blew my 4.0. I hate this class.

I did do the practice quiz on my laptop and I probably should have used it today, but as many times as she said not to, I figured this would be the one time I would get kicked out of the quiz...lol. I usually use firefox on my laptop for school stuff. So, I posted Sunday about let's get going on dividing up the JC form, etc and no responses yet. I posted again today. I would like to get started....

I also got an A. It wasn't as bad as what I thought it was going to be. Time was my biggest concern because I was taking it on our desktop computer since they said not to use laptop with wireless internet. And our internet is on that computer is very slow.

My total grade changed yesterday but nothing else is posted under grades. She did load our graded assignments to the file exchange though. Our grades were great, much better than last week. We haven't excluded anyone yet, but there is someone that has not done hardly any work. And what she does do, someone ends up redoing it. I have been trying to get my group going on working on the APA paper and dividing up the JC form to work on. So far, I am the only one who has posted all week...it's very frustrating. Now I am really worried about the quiz. I think I am going to read through my notes one more time and then go ahead and take it. The longer I wait the higher my anxiety gets.

Amyrnfa, I totally agree. And the more the faculty posts on the class discussion board, the more confused I get.

I hand wrote my notes or I would send them to you, but I had pretty much the exact same things as you did. You had a little bit more I think. I emailed my coach some specific questions about #5 on the assignment and if I was at least on the right track. She emailed back to listen to the OOH. I had already listened to that part twice and it wasn't addressed. And part I needed clarification. I guess they say just ask away and they'll point us in the right direction, but that really means they'll point you back to the OOH and you better hope your questions was addressed there. Sorry I think I am a little grumpy right now!!

Everyone has shown up now so we are all good. Does anyone know anything about their grading? Their rubric seems easy to follow but when they say "discuss" I have a feeling they have specific things they want you to talk about and if you don't it will be points off.

Hi I am in the nursing research class too. Glad I found this thread. I am getting very anxious about this assignment coming up. We have one group member completely missing and one that introduced herself and hasn't been back. Yikes.

I'm a new grad looking for a job. I've already passed NCLEX and have excellent grades but no experience so I'm having a hard time finding anything. Does anyone have any advice about getting on at Healthsouth Rehab/LTAC or Kindred or Triumph LTACs? TIA.

I just finished my first year at Lonestar Tomball...other campuses may be a little different... We get 3 grades--clinical, lab, and lecture class. Lab grade is based on a quiz you take online each week, lecture is roughly 95% test grades and 5% homework. Hate to say this but really can't give an answer for how the clinical grade is computed. There is a grid that your clinical teacher grades you on each week, but it is very subjective and tends to depend on what teacher you have. We have not had any papers to write so far. Hope this helps!

I have also been wondering about the nursing supplies kit. I just emailed a couple of people, I'll let you know if I find anything out. Which nursing diagnosis book did you order? Is it the original one off the list or the one they talked about at orientation? I also got a PDA...I knew nothing about them, so I put my husband in charge of researching and purchasing that. It came in last week so now he needs to download all the programs so I can play around with it. I hope it is something I will use alot b/c of how much it costs. I am going to get a rolling backpack, but I have an old regular backpack I can use for the summer class...I want to see what everyone else gets and see what I like. What kind of shoes did you get?

I will be in your RNSG 1172 class! I have all my books except for 1 or 2. I bought all my scrubs today...still need a stethoscope and rolling backpack. It is slowly all coming together. I am very excited too. What is your schedule for the fall? I have lecture MT 800-1100, lab T 1200-200 and clinical on Saturdays. Look forward to meeting you.
