GPC Fall 2009
Hello! I just wanted to congratulate you on getting accepted into the GPC Nursing Program. I graduated from the program in 2007, so it can be done (I also did it while being employed part time and with two children). Good luck on this exciting endeavor!

A Mentor!!!!
Hi! I just graduated from the Nursing Program at GPC. I haven't taken the NCLEX or started a "real" RN position, but I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Oh, and my name is Sonya, also.

GA Perimeter College
Carostar, Congratulations on finishing your first semester at GPC! You should be very proud of yourself. I myself am going into my fourth and final semester in the GPC Nursing Program and actually see "a light at the end of the tunnel." All I can tell you is to take one day at a time. I know it's very disheartening to watch your fellow classmates drop/fail, but your in school for a purpose, and you can get it done. If you have any questions/concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Looking for GPC Nursing Students
Thank you, Southergirl, for your suggestions. I have a feeling they're going to come in handy. Also, thank you for not being so negative in your recommendations. Are you currently in the program, or did you already graduate?

Looking for GPC Nursing Students
Hello everyone. I was just looking for some people who are starting the Georgia Perimeter College Nursing Program this fall. Maybe we could start a support group or something :chuckle or take CPR together. Let me know what you think.

Georgia Perimeter Anat & Phys. Help
I took A&P II on-line with Dr. Aliff and got an A. It's extremely important to keep up with everything. It's the only class I took other than the lab in the fall of last year. I have to say I really missed being in a classroom because sometimes people ask questions that you wouldn't think to ask, so I took Microbiology at Rockdale this semester. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. Sonya

Class of 2007 Hopefuls / Just Getting Started?
Greetings from Georgia! I'm a 38-year-old mom of a 9-year-old boy and a soon to be 6-year-old girl. I'm finishing up my prereqs this fall with anatomy and physiology II and then microbiology and a speech class (yuck) in the spring. I hope to be accepted into the ADN nursing program next fall. Oh, wait a minute, we all need to think positively...so, I WILL be accepted into the nursing program next fall. I'm a medical transcriptionist, so I work at home and will continue working while I'm going to school. I'm so excited and so nervous all at the same time! Good luck to everyone! Sonya

Mom of 3 trying to go back to school
:angryfire Does anyone else think "LT Dave" is a caveman besides me? I wonder if "LT Dave" is married and has kids? And if so, who's taking care of his kids? It's amazing how some men think the kids belong just to the woman and are her responsibility. It sounds like she's trying to make a better life for her children, and somtimes it does not matter if you're there at home for your children at all times, they still can choose the wrong road. Also, it looks like "LT Dave" is a serious fisherman. So I wonder how much time he spends away fishing without the family? Thanks for letting me vent.

Athens Technical College
Hello! Can anyone give me any information about Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia, and their ADN program? I'm comparing ATC with Georgia Perimeter College and their ADN program. Thanks in advance.

New and Curious RE: ADN Program at GPC
I'm in the process of just trying to get accepted into GPC right now, let alone into the nursing program. It seems to be a slow process. I'm hoping to get in to start in the fall. The nursing department also has monthly information meetings. I went to one in December, and the person giving us the information really tried to scare us (i.e., the program is really difficult, a lot of people drop out, etc.). I think I'm in the same boat you are. I got my Associates Degee in Applied Science in physical therapy assisting in 1987, so I'm going to have to take Anatomy and Physiology II again (they don't require that you take Anatomy and Physiology I again, though, which is nice). I don't know if I can be of any further help, but let me know if I can.
