University of Michigan (UofM) Accelerated program
Because it would be a great disservice if the current class didn't start an FB group for the incoming class......so Facebook search "University of Michigan 2nd Career Accelerated BSN 2013". It's an open group at the moment and everyone is welcome to join. I'll let members of the current class know so you can ask questions. I think they're starting to feel antsy about getting rid of their textbooks. And you're welcome to ask me questions here as well.

I'm currently in the program and from out-of-state. Because this is a second bachelor's program, there is not much available in terms of state or federal grants. You'll get the maximum in federal direct loans ($5,500 subsidized, $7,000 unsubsidized) for the school year, but almost everyone gets this regardless of in/out-of-state status. Many of us supplemented with private loans, which is what I had to do. Also the spring/summer semester is considered part of the next school year so we all have to fill out FAFSA again.

University of Michigan (UofM) Accelerated program
I was wondering if anybody else here is from out-of-state and can speak about how much tuition/cost-of-living in the Ann Arbor area is like? When I looked here http://ro.umich.edu/tuition/full.php#Second_Nur I am uncertain if the $21k is for the entire year or just a semester or something else. And because this is a second degree program, not much else in terms of financial aid from the federal government. Except loans. hahaha Congrats to everyone else!

I just signed into my Penn Portal and got this new message: "Admissions decisions for Accelerated Nursing Program applicants have been completed and the Office of Admissions has discontinued the tracking of application materials. All necessary documents were available for review by the Admissions Committee or you would have been contacted directly." Does this mean we'll be hearing back from them soon?! Gah, can hardly wait.

Johns Hopkins University BSN/MSN Fall 2011
I just had my interview today for regular decision ABSN-MSN. Pretty much all the questions posted before appeared in the interview. However, I got a few questions that came up that weren't previously mentioned: - Why did you choose your particular undergraduate institution? - How many people were in your major? - What was the average class size in your upper division courses? I think these were more to get a feel of what my undergraduate career was like and how competitive it could have been. (I am quite certain my undergraduate GPA falls below the average of the applicant pool). If you're thinking of the CNS specialty (like I am :)), you'd be ask questions about why you are choosing it and what you know about it. My interviewer said that not many people understand what a CNS since it is not as well known as the NP role. And so the wait begins. Good luck to everyone!

I'm an ABSN/MSN regular decision applicant and got an email yesterday instructing me to schedule an interview. Haven't done so yet because I have no idea when they want them to be! haha I need a bit of an idea (mid-Jan, late-Jan, early-Feb...) before I can call and schedule. Anyone here also absn/msn regular decision?
