I understand that someone telling you how to do your job can be stressful. My mother and I were the only people in the room including the nurse. If I was having trouble finding a vein I would ask for help from another nurse or ask the patient. I thought it was unprofessional. The situation is stressful enough for both the patient and nurse. My mother informed the nurse that it would be hard to find a vein. Then, when the nurse was having trouble, my mother suggested another place. The nurse just kept trying and didn't listen. I don't know how that nurses night was or how stressful but the next nurse listened and everything worked out. She wasn't telling the nurses how to do their jobs. A suggestion is different than ordering her too. My family has respect for all nurses. My mother brothers and grandmothers are nurses.

My mother broke her arm because she slipped on ice and snow. We went to the emergency room. It took about 2 hours for her to see a doctor. My mom is a nurse. My mother was trying to explain to a nurse that finding a vein on her was going to be hard, she suggested where to try but the nurse ignored her. After a few failed attempts she quit and another nurse came in. What do you do in that situation, if a nurse is not listening to you?

i worked in columbus ohio as a cna/pca/tech/stna all mean the same thing it depends on where you are working. so, i may work as cna/pca/tech/stna. my license will be for stna tech and pca? thank you :) very helpful. did you like working by agency?

After, I have my CNA license, where may I work? May i work as a home health aide or do I have to go into another program? There are many names for CNAS and most hold the same jobs but in different settings. Cnas work in LTC and hospitals, anywhere else? Please explain the differences between PCTS CNAS and other aides? Also, the differnt places I could work? THank youu

Hi. I am enrolling in a STNA class this Winter.After, I have my CNA license. What jobs can I apply for? May I be a home health aide? How long have you been a cna and how is it?

My name is April Rose and I am a resident of Ohio. I plan to take my STNA near the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010. After, I finish my STNA class and pass the exam. I will be going to school for my Associates of Nursing(RN). I want to become a STNA for a job which will give me experience. An associates degree usually takes 2 years but I am not starting my degree for a year. I will earn my (RN) about 3 years from now and transfer to a 4 year university which will be an extra 2 years. 5-6 years from now I will have my RN and my bachelor degree. I will take pre-med classes and major in Psychology or Creative writing. Then, I will apply for medical school and hopefully get in. After I finish medical school then I will start my residency in family medicine or obstetrics. After 3-6 years of residency I will take the test to become a physician. I plan to become an Rn because of the experience and money. I considered my life in my 20's and I know I will have children before I graduate medical school. My plan may take 12-20 years but its my life goal along with having a family. P.S. The RN takes 2 years with an extra semester for support courses, like english science and math. The LPN program takes 1 year of nursing classes plus a semester of support courses. I would not go for an LPN because RNs earn more and some people have been discussing how LPN jobs aren't flourishing like years ago. My mother and brother are both LPNs and they have told me how they wished they had went for their RN. Don't stop at your cna or lpns license go for your RN.

I researched how to become a CNA. I may entered an accredited nursing homes program or entered a CNA program. I live in Ohio. I need help with contacting the programs. When I call the nursing home: Who should contact at the nursing home? (The nursing director) What should I ask about their cna program? What other questions should I ask about the programs?
