Hi Guys I just wrote the nclex on nov 2015 and wanted to share my experience with you guys as this website really helped me while I prepared for my test Background I graduated from nursing school in 2009 and have been working as a nurse in London England ever since. I'm planning to join my wife who is training to be a CRNA in america hence I had to take the NCLEX. Materials Used As its been a long time since I had lost touch with content, I first used the Kaplan course book and took 4 weeks to read the whole book to refresh my memory. After that, to save money I used the Kaplan 2 month q bank ( $50 odd ) and the free version of NCLEX mastery app on my phone ( very good for content refresher ). I spent exactly 60 days of study whilst I was working full time 48 hrs/week. So that would mean 35 days in total DATE FOR EXAM I took my date on a thursday. I would never advice this to candidates as you would have to wait till the following tuesday for the results. Hence I thik choosing mondays or tuesdays would be ideal to avoid stress levels shooting up the roof. EXAM EXPERIENCE I was semi confident for the exam oz I did revise all the important topics like insulin , digoxin , Li etc. But I had the most traumatic experience in my life. The questions kept pouring most of the SATAs and I ended up doing 223 questions in 5 and half hours. After Q180 i lost it and kept blindly clicking on answers for the next 10 questions. I then took my 3rd break and then told myself it doesnt if I pass or not but Ishould but my full effort into each question. That plus praying to St Jude drove me all the way to 223 questions POST EXAMS As I mentioned as I took the exam I had to wait till monday night for my results. During this time I tried the PVT and it kept saying YOUR RESULTS ARE ON HOLD. This made me feel worse as that dint help RESULTS PASSED !!!!!!!!!!!!! Final Tips USE KAPLAN OR ANY TEXTBOOK TO BRUSH UP ON CONTENTS USE KAPLAN Q BANK - MOST EFFECTIVE NCLEX MASTERY FREE APP GOOD FOR CONTENT KNOWLEDGE BOOK UR TESTS ON MONDAYS/TUESDAYS JUST KEEP ANSWERING ALL THE QUESTIONS THAT COME - TAKE BREAKS FREQUENTLY PVT RESULTS ON HOLD means just keep praying NCLEX NEEDS PRAYERS - Pray to St Jude I'm happy to help if anybody needs further suggestions
