Don't count out Jacksonville. I live there and not only are there many hospitals, but the area is really pretty and the city is growing. We have a nice downtown, beaches and the charm of St. Augustine close by. Hi All! I want to go back to school in the Fall and I am unsure on which path would be the best for me. As it stands now I am considering going for my LPN first. I am 31 yrs old and do have an AAS degree...not related to healthcare. Would it be in my best interest to go to school for my LPN or jump right into the RN program? My only road block may be the prereqs (since I have none of them complete for the RN admission) and there may also be a HUGE waiting list at the colleges here in Jacksonville for admission into any RN program from what I have heard from many others. Thank you in advance for any advice!

Hi KYMSN! I live in Jacksonville now. Just relocated here in July of this year. I am not a nurse yet, but will be starting school this Fall to become one. My parents live in Ocala. It is about 2 1/2 hrs from Jacksonville. Not a great commute I think. Ocala is Beautiful! Nice and quaint, quiet and lots of farms. If you want a city atmosphere closer to the beach I suggest Jacksonville.
