Has anyone had experience working at CareCore National?
Yes they pay for your training. You make $20.00 per hour whether you are an LPN/LVN or RN. Once you are finished training, you either stay on the facility or go remote. You are then paid on a per case basis which is approx. $2.28 per case. You are told you can make $30.00 an hour with this method however, if you do too many cases you are docked/penalized on your pay. They use "quality control" as an excuse to do this. You are required to deny a minimum of 20% cases to go to medical review "MR" although they won't put that in writing as it implicates them in possible violations of law that pertains to anti kickback etc. Their system goes down frequently and you also get alot of angry callers who have had to call back several times for either being forwarded to the wrong dept or disconnected. The classes are typically 10-15 medical lvn's, rn's. CharlotteRN is new to our site here at allnurses. Seems she may be "damage control" surfing to squash and negative feedback about CCN. Truth be known, they play hardball. That came from a former VP of Human Resources whom to this day, I stay in contact with. You also have to wear head phones. WHO has recently announced that cell phones/headphones cause cancer. I had problems which quickly accelerated to a wide array of symptoms, vertigo, tinnitus, syncope, nausea etc...and had to stop wearing the head phones. They will fight you tooth and nail on workmens comp if you ever have to file. They have had a few lawsuits against them, Major lawsuits (google them) as well.

Help With LVN to BSN or LVN to RN Pathway Texas or Hawaii
I found Angelo State University ASU and so far, from all the research I have done, this appears to be the best option for online, LVN to RN in Texas, by far. The pre-requisites are minimal and most LVN's have already had some of the courses. I on the other hand, went to Saint Philips 20+ years and my courses do not satisfy any pre-reqs so I have to take the courses. They are also very helpful at ASU and quick to respond to emails and questions. http://www.angelo.edu/dept/nursing/documents/LVNtoRN/LVN_RN_HospitalAffiliateProgramProgress.pdf

Injured by a Telephone
Hi Mike! Wish I would have found this earlier! Yes, Absolutely I had problems! I posted on here somewhere about the company I used to work for. WC did nothing! I had tinnitus, vertigo, losing my balance, near syncope episodes, fullness in my ears, confusion, numbness to my left side of face where I used the headphones the most, headaches, sometimes my speech was babbled. This is no lie! A few other nurses were telling me they were starting to experience these things as well. All of us were afraid to do anything for fear of termination. I went out on sick leave, unpaid. I tried to get my company to help me and file WC Workmens Comp but it was like pulling teeth or getting an act from congress for them to do something. I even called osha and no one would do anything. One nurse who has worked there for over a year said she has lost hearing in one ear now! This headset business is too big to fight. They have lobbyist and the politicians won't do anything about the dangerous exposure to radiation EMF damage! No lawyers will take the cases, osha won't investigate, WC is a joke and you are ultimately forced/starved out. I have to say that I refused to wear the headsets and was not allowed to come back to work unless I did. So I had no choice. Also, a few months later my symptoms slow disappeared! So Yes, there is a problem but nurses, call center employees, are afraid to act. No one will help us.

Utilization Management LPN/LVN Salary Question ...
You may want to rethink this. I've been with them for over 6 months. If it sounds too good to be true..... very misleading. You don't actually find out all details until they send you home with your computer...pay is per case at about $2.28 per case. If you get too many cases, they dock your pay big time and use petty reasoning for it at that. They tell you the pay is up to $30.00 per hour but that's not true. If you get over 100 cases per day, they harass you with real petty audits. They don't want you pre certifying too many cases as they have to justify in board meetings to those big insurance companies that pay them. Also, they have some major law suits against them right now. Google their name. the headphones / head set, you have to wear caused me and some other nurses a lot of symptoms...headaches, tinnitus, vertigo, nausea. They are supposed to train you on the dangers of the head sets but they don't. I found out later when I got home and read the inserts in the box for the headsets "Warning, can cause permanent hearing loss or damage" I didn't set the system up, my husband and son did, so I never saw that! Another nurse told me she has lost hearing in one ear already. Plus it nearly takes an act of congress to get time off with your accrued paid time off. I'd really push the questions in the initial interview. The trainer avoided our questions we had on how the pay structure works until we were done training and then it was vague. "Read the fine print"

Commercial Arline Flight Nursing
I need to see about finding a nurse to fly my mother out from Lemoore, Ca via Fresno airport to Savannah, Ga. She's in a skilled nursing facility there. My sister left her there and I want her here with me. I may go myself but if I can get someone to do this, I may opt that instead. Not sure if the airlines can handle this as she is dementia/Alzheimer. Anyone have any ideas on this? I am a nurse and had to put in 2 months advance notice to get the time off to do this. I can't go until first week of October. She's alone. I want her here with family, asap. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Utilization Management LPN/LVN Salary Question ...
tlburnsrnbsn thank you! Was wondering how that worked when they got in touch with me they had stated you start at 20.00 per hour then go to 30.00 per hour based on quantity/quality. I will study the guidelines as well, before I start with them. Not sure where to find those online. Can you point me in the right direction or give me some key words I can google? I'm excited and can't wait to start!

Utilization Management LPN/LVN Salary Question ...
Utilization Review / Clinical Records Review Has anyone worked for Carecore National based out of New York, Colorado, South Carolina? When you start out working for them, while in training, it's a non negotiable wage of 20.00 per hour. Upon completion of successful training 3-6 weeks, your pay goes to 30.00 per hour; "once you have met established quality and quantity benchmarks for processing cases, you will be given the opportunity to work on a case-rate basis, which offers the potential for increasing your salary to as much as 125% to 150% or more of your hourly rate" Anyone have any idea just exactly what this means? How hard is it to "reach established quality and quantity benchmarks?"

Utilization Management LPN/LVN Salary Question ...

Kaylim Career Institute ATL GA
Thank you Leo2. That's what I was afraid of. So in actuality, it's just another college network, rue etc.. We are paying them for tutoring? Also, does that mean you have to take each of the required courses from EC pass them all in addition to the classes/ tests at kaylim? Sounds to me like your paying double here. Are there any other online or distance lpn to adn courses? thank you

Exit HESI exam quirks. Material on test but not in HESI review book. (No specifics)
Is this hesi scam utilized nationwide now? Ridiculous!

lpn prerequisites!
When I went to college in San Antonio for my LVN/LPN we were not given credits for the courses we took. I graduated with a 3.72 gpa Now wanting to further my career, wanting to find an LPN to RN bridge, transition, fast track is frustrating. When you send all these folks your transcripts, which is a lot of effort to begin with to contact college and get them to send to colleges etc, unopened envelopes etc. Then to be told you have to complete certain pre-requisites before your accepted. It's ridiculous. I've been a nurse for 20 years. I have trained RN's in dialysis. Anyone know of an online course for the lpn to rn with the exception of excelsior, without having to take english, literature, history, anatomy etc..? Or if you can just test out of those courses?

Mayo Clinic calls House plan bad medicine
The exhibition by "The One" parading a couple of citizens in a press conference, (who were not "petitioned" on our behalf), as "representatives" or "our voice" from the AMA or ANA, is not indicative nor do they speak for millions of medical / health professionals. It's "their" opinions as "citizens", not inclusive of the majority, in fact, possibly and most likely, the minority of health care providers who are bedazzled with, O. It was misleading, misconstrued and deceitful! I am quite sure, hundreds of thousands of medical professionals, take great offense to those few, who have authoritative roles, in an organization, to "assume" they are our voice!

Obama's health plan takes shape
That's it in a nut shell. This is only the tip of the iceberg to the devastation of the heavy arm, socialistic, hastily pushed "change" we will be seeing!

Obama's health plan takes shape
"office of minority health" gee, sounds to me like we will be addressing health care the same way the employment quotas are handled. "office of majority health" According to U.S. census, one group alone, blacks, are the majority and out number caucasions, 5 to 1. So, it will be very interesting to see how this plays out. Meanwhile, the proof will be in the pudding. You think you are under paid now? Fasten your seatbelts! You may want to get your passports ready for a country where there is still some semblance of sanity and before we are told we can't leave the country due to "mandatory national service"!

Obama's health plan takes shape
Unfortunately, the prez had the prez of the ANA on camera. The impression he gave the public, "she represents 2.5 million (or thereabouts) nurses and supports this bill!" She is not my voice. All of us in the medical field will be affected, gravely, by this. It's a scam and a sham!
