  1. I am an LPN and am currently attending classes towards my RN. I need to write 4 summary on current nursing journal articles. I am not sure where to look to get any articles free. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  2. Tessa, I work at Reading Hospital. I was one of the last few LPNs hired there about 3 years ago.
  3. Policy where I work is to measure the tube from tip of nose to attachment site when it's placed and if it is adjusted and also Qshift. This helps to make sure once it is in the right spot it stays there. We still do the air bolus too.
  4. An aide doing a 1:1 on a guy that was dt-ing got punched in the face and had a black eye. I have personally been scratched, hit, grabbed several times. Usually by elderly stroke pts, or again people dt-ing. Always take another person with you.
  5. I live in Reading, PA. I work in a hospital and make about $20 (w/ shift differential) on 2nd shift. RN's start around $21 as their base, but if I would go to a nursing home I would start probably around $21-22. As a CNA in a nursing home I was making around $15. I don't know about Philly hospitals, but the hospital I work at is planning on having only RN's in the acute setting by 2014. I am starting school this fall for my RN. I don't know how far you a willing to drive for school, but RACC (Reading Area Comm. College) has a LPN program. Good Luck with your decision
  6. I told you you would get the job. I had no doubt in my mind!! Oh BTW, I just joined!
