  1. I am not yet a nurse so I really have no experience dealing with this situation. I personally have never been in a situation where a SANE was necessary (praise God) so I am not sure how a male SANE would be received by a female patient. I am glad, however, to hear that men are pursuing careers where there once were definite boundaries. As other responders have said though, men are sexually assaulted. Actually, I believe it happens more than we as the public ever hear about. Either way, good luck in whatever you do!
  2. I personally do not know if it is illegal to ask someone this question but I do think that it is inappropriate. Why would this be necessary to qualify or disqualify an individual for this position. At this point I would be questioning whether I even wanted to work for these people if they are willing to ask a person that question! How unsensitive!!
