  1. Yes you can! At times you might feel like you are drowning in all you have to do but it can certainly be done and you will be happy you did. I was a SAHM for 10 years until last year. I have 5 kids: 10, 8, 6, 3, and 1. I am in my 3 semester, applying for the nursing program in the spring. So far I have a 4.0. It has been uber-difficult, especially with a husband that is MIA due to his work and his own schooling and no family help, but I have been making it through. Hopefully, your husband and family will be supportive and willing to give you study time or help around the house. It will make your life much easier!
  2. I am taking Chem right now along with A&P. So far I have learned more about chemistry in my A&P studying then in any of me Chem classes so far! We still have another week or 2 until our 1st exam. I have a feeling though that a pop quiz is in order soon.
  3. I don't think it could hurt, mzchas, especially since it will give you an even better background to build on an it seems to be generally easy. In my class, we have weekly quizzes, a paper, dietary analyses, and a group dietary analysis. I don't think we even have any exams or a final!
  4. I get what you are saying! In my school, it takes being in school one semester before you can even register for A&P I - there is that much demand for the class. So I took an extra two semesters because my youngest is just now one and I was able to take all my classes online and be home with her. By the time I apply for nursing school (this April for Fall 2011), I will have taken everything but my nursing portion. I think that will set me up for more success once I get in since I have nothing to do but focus on nursing. I will still be taking at least 12 hours a semester then until my very last one!
  5. I have 5 kids too - 3 in school and 2 at home. I am in my 3rd semester but just really starting all my hard nursing pre-reqs. As long as I take right at FT hours, I think I can handle the load. It's hard but doable. I am taking A&P I, Chem, an extra Chem lab, and Nutrition - 11 credits - and spending the weekend doing volunteer work in order to be accepted into my program. Good luck!
  6. I will be taking A&P I, Chem with basically 2 labs, and Nutrition. It is intimidating hearing everyone always talking about how hard it is but I am sure I can do well if I study, study, study! I may be taking some shortcuts on the "mom front" this semester cooking and cleaning for the kids but I am confident this will be worth it!
