Anyone entered PICU nursing already a parent?
I'm a mom and a PICU nurse. I didn't think I'd be able to do PICU, but ended up here as a student and I love it. I always wanted peds and feel like I make a difference and a connection with my return patients and their families. It's hard to get into a PICU, so I'd say take the opportunity and you can always switch to adults later.

Current CHOA RNs
Any current CHOA RNs? I'm interviewing for the a position at Egleston in a few weeks and wanted to hear what current employees think of working there. I'm hoping it's as amazing as I hear!

Ga Board of Nurses by Endorsement questions & Frustrations
I'm applying from NY for a Georgia license. I registered with Cogent and plan to do my fingerprints when I interview in GA in a few weeks. My question is about the education verification. What do I need to prove that I graduated within the past 4 years? Will my sealed transcript and a photocopy of my diploma and NY license work? And for those who did fingerprints electronically, do they confirm at the time that you do them that they are acceptable? (not that you're not a criminal, but that the fingerprints came out ok If not, where do you get the mail-in fingerprint cards? Thanks everyone and anyone!

Taking Pre-Reqs online
Scooter, Where are you going to nursing school? I'm considering Columbia, Downstate and Hunter. I know Columbia will accept them, but I'm not sure about Downstate or Hunter.

Moms or Future Moms and BSN Programs
I'm looking into BSN programs - accelerated and regular - at SUNY Downstate, Hunter and Columbia (my husband works there so the BSN portion would be free), but I'm 31 and we're starting to try to get pregnant. I haven't done my pre-reqs yet, but I wanted to know if any moms/future moms out there have any advice about being a mom while in school? I hear about how intense the programs are and just wanted to know how you balance school and family. Thanks :)

NYC area BSN Programs: Everything you ever wanted to know
This is a great post. Thanks so much for compiling all this info. I've looked through a lot of these programs, but I find some of it a little confusing. I have a BA already and I'm looking for a BSN program that I can do either full or part time (not accelerated) starting in 2010 (need time t odo the pre-reqs) because my husband and I are planning to get pregnant soon. It seems that most of the BSN programs are for RNs without a bachelor degree or people who need the full four year deal. Any suggestions or advice? Thank you!

Pre Reqs - How to fit them all in?
I'm interested in applying to several of the accelerated BSN and BSN/MSN programs for Summer 2010, but I need to take lots of pre-reqs - Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, etc. The problem is I don't have the Intro to Bio or Intro to Chem classes (101 and 102) that I need to get into Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, etc. It seems like it will take me through the summer of 2010 to finish it all due to the order the courses have to be taken. Any suggestions on how I can fit this all in before programs start next summer? Thank you!!!
