  1. Oh yeah, I forgot to let everyone know: I'm not an administrator. And yes, I totally agree with happy nurses = happy patients. We do fight for higher pay and better employment benefits, better staffing ratio (oh yeah, 4:1 or 3:1 telemetry ratio is no bueno for us, we want better!), hiring experienced staff, all the rainbows. Our patient demographics are mostly the unfortunate souls, low income, no insurance, I-pay-taxes-so-you-work-for-me patients. The I'm-allergic-to-tylenol-motrin-vicodin-and-morphine-but-give-me-norco-and-dilaudid-and-wake-me-up-if-I-happen-to-be-sleeping patients. I'm just wondering in your practice what works as far as EBP interventions to make patient stay experience better.
  2. For those practicing in an acute care hospital, besides AIDET, hourly rounding, etc. What EBP nursing interventions do you guys do in your hospital that increases HCAHP scores?
  3. My interview went well. I came 20 min prior so I had to wait for 5 min. I got randomly placed with the oncology manager and nurse IV. They're pretty nice. I like the fact that they weren't intimidating. They asked me a couple of generic questions, a lot of conflict management questions, medications assessments, etc. But we also talked about oncology cuz they were convincing me to go there and I was interested about hearing it. Overall, I liked it. For your question, they didn't offer anything...yet hopefully. From what I felt from the whole process they're trying to do, they're having some 3 day open house to weed out a good 800 applicants. That's just me though, I was told I should be hearing from them soon. What about you guys who went. How'd it go?
  4. for the LPCH, I got a call back for screening interview from the Nurse Recruiter, I was told that it'll be relayed to the managers and they'll supposedly call me back depending on how busy they are. I'm just scared that I might be in limbo and forget about me. Bleh! I'm keeping my hopes up.
  5. I'm going tomorrow too. I guess we'll all be seeing each other without knowing tomorrow. Anyway, good luck everyone.
