  1. Thanks so much! I'm a visual learner too so this really helps!

I would love to hear what you decide and how it goes for you. I have been talking with them for the same thing but won't be ready until mid-summer. I'm just about to start a 13 week local contract in NYC. Good luck whatever you decide and keep me posted!
  3. Thank you! I'm really looking forward to adding to my RN skills, this job can be so cool in that there are always new things to learn!
  4. Hey Kika, Columbia technically does not have undergraduate nursing, but they have ETP for people with another degree in something else. That is what I did and left after the BS/RN portion (1/2 of my class did not stay on immediately and finish the MS/NP). Hope that helps and best of luck to you!
  5. I did my BS in nursing at Columbia and have done 2 of 3 years toward my Adult NP degree at NYU and have been on leave for 1 1/2 years. For a variety of reasons I'm thinking about transferring to another program as I would like to do Family NP instead (which NYU does not have). I have 2 concerns/questions: 1) Does anyone have any idea about programs that will accept the bulk of my credits? I cannot bear to essentially start over with this much work under my belt. 2) Along those lines, I'm wondering if there may be a BSN to DNP program that would offer me advanced standing. I would prefer to stay in NYC, but for a great program I may consider moving. Given the schools I've attended I'm sure I'm almost out of student loan money (groan) so I have to be really smart about balancing a good school with the amount of time and money it will take to finish the program. I'd love to hear your thoughts! (sorry if you're seeing this as a double post--I don't think I put it in the correct place initially!)
  6. Hey wise nurses! I was just offered my first OR RN position. I have worked as a labor and delivery RN and now will be working in the OR exclusively for ob/gyn cases. As always, I want to provide great care and would love to hear your top tips, book and resource recommendations, and anything else you wish you would have known before your first day in the OR. As an L & D RN I was the circulating RN in cesarean sections and I also worked in the PACU, but this new role will be much more broad. All OR all the time! I can't wait to hear your recommendations! Be well!
  7. I am looking for very similar things, and have always thought school nursing would be a wonderful nursing job. Noreen, I would love to PM you but don't have enough posts yet! Be well, Andrea
