Hi BucknAngler...I am so sorry your interview for UAB went that way. I interviewed in Montgomery and it was nothing like that at all. Everyone in my interview was extremelly professional and friendly. I was accepted to the Montgomery component and as far as I know Montgomery only took 3 students. Keep trying and don't give up. :redbeathe

Anyone heard back from UAB yet? I hear they have started sending out some acceptance letters to the Birmingham component.

Lets Chill.... If you are applying to different schools you can either ask the same people for references or different people. But each school needs their own set of references. If you do not get in...then yes you have to resubmit your package. Which means you will need references again. So you can ask the same people again...or in the year that you have to get your next packages together you can find other people to write references for you. You cannot make copies...because most schools require the letters to be submitted directly to them and you never touch them. Hope this helps

Ok...so all UAB 2010 interview letters have been sent out. Has anyone heard the aprox. number of students UAB will be accepting for their next class? My interview will be soon...I think we are supposed to sign a confidentiality aggreement...so If I can post any advice to future applicants I will.

I am interviewing for the Montgomery component...my letter states "at this time we do not have a date for your interview. we will be contacting you in the near future with that information." I am assuming that they are waiting on the CRNA's from my component to decide on a date...I am ready to find out the exact date though.

medic, First of all congrats on your DNP acceptance. Now for my opinion, I think if you got an interview to UAB you should at least go and sit for the interview...and do your best...and see if you get accepted. That way you will never wonder what if? Then you can make your decision on which program to attend based on that. Im a firm believer that "everything happens for a reason"! By the way which UAB component did you apply too?

Congrats SleepEasy!!! Still no letter for me....And Im going out of town tomorrow!! So I will be biting my nails until I get back home.

sleepeasy...which school did you recently apply to that did not accept you strictly because of your GRE? I have too recently heard that alot of schools are getting strict and cutting students out if they do not at least meet the minimum requirements. I have heard this is due to the large amount of students that are now applying. However, I have also heard that having your CCRN goes a long way as well.

UAB still hasn't sent out it's letters inviting people for interviews. Hopefully they will be out by Thanksgiving 2009.

I recently applied to UAB. UAB requires all of it's applicants to submit online recomendations. I had a Anesthesiologist (that I have worked with in the past), a CRNA (that I shadowed, and also worked before he went to CRNA school), an RN ( that I have worked with in the Unit that recently was accepted and has started CRNA school), and my current ICU nurse manager. They only wanted 3 letters of rec. but I got 4. I pray they all gave me Outstanding recommendations! I guess I will find out in a couple of weeks when UAB sends out their Interview letters.

UAB looks at Microbiology, A&P 1&2, and Chemistry. They used to look at Pathophysiology...but they now offer Advanced Patho through their Non-Degree Seeking program.

Ok...just heard that letters WILL definately be SENT BEFORE THANKSGIVING!!! That's only 17 full days from today!!!! CROSSING MY FINGERS!

thanks jbrock...I did not know that uab had added so many different clinical sites this year. I wonder when this was posted. Im still hoping to get accepted into the Montgomery component.

Anyone know how many people applied to the Montgomery component? This is my first year applying..and I am anxious to see how many more folks are out there. I heard that there about 20 that applied but only 10 will interview and only 5 will get in.
