  1. Ridgeland's list is not the same? I did not get a list from instructors, maybe I will....hum...lol...
  2. The list the bookstore has should be accurate. I'm going to Ridgeland ADN, orientation tomorrow, so will be checking against the (exhaustive) list from the bookstore. Luckily I ran into a nurse who finished the Holmes ADN course this spring (and is already working!!), and he was sooo very helpful, and is going to sell me his books very cheap. Just have to check and make sure they have not upgraded editions since. PS: Can get the names/numbers of some others who have finished the program who would sell books. If interested, just let me know. That is, if books same between the campuses.
  3. They are red and white, but which is which? LPN: white top, red pants; RN: Red top, white pants - or the other way 'round? (bookstore lady was not sure....but I'm sure I'll find out tomorrow, and will post)
  4. orientation tomorrow!! Can't believe it's almost here! Sleepless nights anyone?
  5. Congrats to you !!! BTW - how many started with you, and how many graduated? heard it was about 60 with 20 grads - is that right?
  6. How exciting! Since I'm just starting nursing school (fall - pre-reqs summer), really anxious to hear how your first few days/week is going - so post some updates! Sounds like you are good and active, and I bet that really helps!
  7. Sounds like you meet all the requirements. Holmes goes on a point system - kinda elimination from the top down - highest GPA and ACT scores, then people with pre-reqs. Age seems to have nothing to do with it. I'm 44, was accepted as an alternate for fall at first, but did receive a letter of acceptance. Was possibly accepted as an alternate because I am taking A&P now and do not have a grade yet, but will before they start in the fall, or maybe others had higher on the ACT, even though I had high enough score to qualify for entry....Does all that make sense? Sounds like you are sure to get in whenever you apply, especially because of your GPA and pre-reqs done. Good luck!!
  8. Cool! Am taking A&PI and II this summer - really enjoying -
  9. Whew - received ACCEPTANCE letter Saturday !!! for fall ADN at Holmes Community College !!! Starting A&P today though. Getting ready for the whirlwind.
  10. Recently received ACCEPTANCE letter to Holmes. Going to Ridgeland campus too. Did I see where you are starting this fall?
  11. Thanks for reply! Just found good price today on Amazon....there were none yesterday at a good price, but today YEAH.
  12. Taking Human A&P this summer (I and II) - anyone have this book and the lab book, and would like to sell. Unable to find these at a reasonable price, and thought would check here. Thanks for looking!
  13. Got it - that makes sense. I did read as many threads as I could on this "alternate business," and glad to get some more responses! Thanks
  14. Was chosen as an alternate for Holmes CC, Ridgeland campus. Am a 44-y/o medical transcriptionist with 3.85GPA, and just wondering how this works? Does everyone who qualifies but does not make it in become an alternate, or do they, say, pick 5 or 15? I had resigned myself to the fact that I would need to finish pre-reqs, and was pleasantly surprised that I am an alternate! Going to go ahead and take A&P I&II this summer and CPR cert. (and physical and shots...), but still wondering if anyone got in maybe last year that was an alternate?
