  1. Wake County just posted some jobs last week: www.wakegov.com >departments>Human Resources>HR website:nurse:
  2. You can sit for the CNA I I think after your first semester and CNA II after your second or third. Not sure. I know you can only sit for the LPN exam if the school you attend has an exit point for LPNs. Johnston Co CC has that I know, in Smithfield, NC. Not sure who else does. May want to check the NC board of Nursing website for that information: www.ncbon.org .
  3. Wakemed, and Duke (Raleigh hospital). THey have very little turnover.
  4. I just finished at UNCG. It is a GREAT school and the nursing faculty there are great. If you go, take as many classes under Dr Kautz as you can. He is great!
  5. Hi! I am a school nurse in Wake County. Currently we are in a hiring freeze but there are vacant positions. Most of us work for the county, not for the school system. The county website is www.wakegov.com . I would encourage to to watch for listings. Something may be unfrozen before August, not sure. But we do have some new schools opening and we can only be stretched so thin. Good luck! I love what I do!
