  1. has anyone gotten an acceptance or rejection via email or snail mail?
  2. I got my bachelors in bio before receiving my bsn through an accelerated program. You have so much time during your pre-nursing years to get a hard sciences foundation. Many CRNA programs suggest orgo, physics and biochem. I did the pre-med requirements so I had to do gen chem 1-3 before orgo 1 &2 but I believe there is a watered down orgo for nutrition majors you may be able to take. You are definitely on the right track for realizing you need the sciences for CRNA. Having them really helped me get a 3.9 in my accelerated nursing program and will make the CRNA classes a lot easier.
  3. can there be ONE thread in response to a CRNA query that does not include a negative reply? it is not helpful to accuse others of being "in it for the money." encouraging them to explore the profession would be more appropriate. not every undergrad knows every thing about every career and discouraging them as such is a disgrace. i have never seen such a thing and i have been following the CRNA threads on here for some time. does every pre-med know every thing about being a physcian? No they do not but they don't have complete strangers doubting their capabilities and intentions. this site is such a wealth of resources and it is such a disservice to the nursing profession to display this type of behavior. It is a turnoff to brilliant and motivated new recruits. It would just be refreshing to not see an abundance of bitter responses to the CRNA posts. please be positive and remain calm...jeez.
  4. Hi everyone. This is my first thread and I would really appreciate any opinions or recommendations for my choice. I have been accepted to two schools that I am really excited about, NYU (15 months) and U of Miami (12 months) for accelerated BSN programs for fall 2009. I am very torn because of various issues such as reputation, location, and duration of program and would love to hear your thoughts. If anyone has been through the program I would really appreciate any input. Future plans include crna school. Thank you so much!
  5. Has anyone tried looking anywhere besides craigslist? I want to find a few places and set up appointments while I'm there the week of orientation. I didn't put a housing deposit down either so...
  6. where are those of you who aren't living in the dorms choosing to live and did you use a service to find an apartment? I live in missouri and really don't want to live in the dorms but am getting nervous about finding a place.
  7. I don't know anything about columbia's program. I would also like to know what kind of GPAs and GRE scores were acceptable. I was a Bio major and only had chem and physiology requirements. I had to squeeze anatomy, micro, and lifespan development while finishing my bio requirements (upper level genetics and spanish 3) to graduate this semester. This summer I still have to finish statistics and nutrition. I concentrated harder on my sciences and labs and took lifespan development online and got an A with min time investement. I am also taking nutrition online this summer. Do you have to take the GRE before acceptance to transfer to Columbia from NYU? If so, were you planning on taking it this summer or the semester of application to Columbia?
  8. I am in the same position. I am also accepted to NYU accelerated BSN for fall 2009 and plan to get my masters to be a crna. Are you planning on holding off until May when columbia's etp program starts? I wish I had known of the program sooner but don't want to waste any more time.
  9. Hey I just wanted to give those waiting some hope. I sent my application the day before the final deadline in late March. I was asked for my mid-term grades only last week, I graduated on Saturday and got my acceptance letter today. Don't give up!
