  1. @ stefanyjoy Thank you very much for your advice , I am kind of a bit worried about my language coz of I have been here only 2 years and my language is not fluent yet...I am afraid that I gonna have problem with communication. And how long have you worked in your company ? and what kind of career advancement you can get for this type of nursing job ? coz this is kind of business area really not bedside area , so if I like this position and I want to stay for my nursing career path in the future what position that I would get to be a higher level and get more money coz 58k is a little low for RN.
  2. Well,I am not sure about this...I just earned my RN license on September 2010 in Oregon too.I didnt have any experiences as RN in United State ,but I was RN in Thailand for 6 years..but when you apply for jobs here in United State they wont count the experience in my country at all! They would think and hire you as a new graduate. While I was trying to earn my RN License here I worked in nursing home memory care department as a caregiver for 1 1/2 years( I have been here in United State only 2 years,so this is my new country ! ) after I got RN License on September 2010 I still working in nursing home as caregiver and this company didnt have any RN Position available for me so I kept working on job hunting anywhere else.I didnt need any staffing agencies because most of them need at least 1 year experience as RN in united State, they wont count any years of experience in your back home country..and all of my nurse friends said that too..2 weeks ago I got a job offer from one nursing home they would pay me as new grads for 21.84/hr ,its kind of low pay but not too bad but the problem was little bit far so I denied the job...Now I got a job offer from insurance company as a RN and not too bad salary for 58K annually...So I would like to tell you that if you keep applying for jobs , one day would be your lucky day...but it is difficult to find jobs in hospitals now coz they dont want to hire new grads or no experience nurses..but you can try SNF....Good luck to you
  3. I am a new RN license, but I was an 6 years experience RN in my back home Thailand.I have been here in United State for 2 years , got a job as a caregiver in nursing home for 1 1/2 years and just earned my RN license in Oregon on September 2010 ...after I earned my RN License I applied for so many applications. Then today I got a job offer from an insurance company as care coordinator RN...good benefits, but I really dont know good pay or not? work 8am-5pm office hours monday through friday , 58K a year...so I am not sure this is a good pay?and I am really not fluent in English ...but I will try my best...This position is telephonic(sitting positon).Does anyone know what do I have to do or know before I start my new job? which book or website do I have to study some more so I will be ready and fast successful in my new job ? I have never been working as RN in United State before so it is kind of worry me alot..dont know much about...Please give me some advices ,Thanks alot

  5. Can you help me with my question .I am very worried.I am applying for getting Nursing License with Oregon State Board of Nursing.I was a nurse from Thailand , I worked there for 5 years. And before I applied for Nursing License with them I went to Oregon State Board of Nursing and ask them about if my nursing license in Thailand was Expire and Do I qualify to get Oregon Nursing License and they told me that no problem we dont need nursing license from Thailand so thats made me feel better and then I decided to apply to get Nursing License with them .And now I am on the processing Evaluation Education .I am waiting for the document from my University in Thailand. But the problem that make me very worry is Today I talk to someone on the web and they are Thai nurses and they all said that I cant get the Oregon nursing license because I dont have nursing license from my country. They are sure that I cant get and I told them that I already went to the Oregon State Board of Nursing and they said thats no problem and thats why I applied to get Oregon Nursing License. And all thai nurses in CA said that The OSBN will ask me for nursing license from thailand when I pass the NCLEX test and then I wont have any license to show them before I can get Oregon Nursing License and They will disappoint me by telling me that yes they need my nursing license from thailand .Is that true ? I already pay all money that I have for getting nursing license with this processing. Please answer my question I am very worried.
