  1. Thanks guys! I think my husband can do it, his boss was super sympathetic and understands the situation. He can work from home once I get home. Orintation is scheduled to start next week so I was having a major freak out last night.
  2. Ok so I accepted am offer for employment and orintation is scheduled. Orintation is almost 4 weeks after my interview. They moved fast in offering me the position, literally the day after I interviewed I had the offer. Because I had to give my work notice I asked for the later orintation. I may now have to put off mynscheduled orintation due to child care, because of health problems ( cancer dx of my sitters family member who will be going out of state to be with the family member for 6 weeks while she receives treatment). So will it be frowned upon to put off orintation? The hospital has it every two weeks so it will just be two weeks but in doing so it will be almost 6 weeks post interview. Thanks os much for any tips. Ignore ore spelling errors my tablet hates me.
  3. Hi, I hope someone can help me. I am a HCC student. I want to go into the RN program with them but am in fear that my GPA is not going to be enough. I took classes right out of high school and got into some bad things like alcohol and drugs. I totally messed up on my ENC 1101 class and failed it two times and ended up only passing it with a c the third time. I then dropped out of school for some time and in that time cleaned up and got my life back in order. I am now a mom of 4 and have not touched drugs and only have a glass of wine every blue moon in over 9 yrs. But my grades from when I thought that the best thing in the world was the next party now are hurting my chance of becoming a RN. MY GPA right now is a 2.9 and I have A&P II and Sociology to take from my pre-reqs. I was able to get a B in College Alg. a B in A&PI and a B in micro. I am thinking that even with a A in those two classes that it will not bring my gpa up to what it needs to be. DO you think it would be best to get into an LPN program and then try to bridge to the RN program thru HCC? What are some other schools in the Tampa area that might be easier to get into for the RN program. I hate that I messed up so bad but being a RN is my dream and I am willing to do whatever I can to be on.
  4. I had *** this past Spring for lab. I did not find him overly hard or anything. I ended up with a B in the lab but that was due in part to me missing a few quizzes and I am not sure that I did as well as I could have on my final. I had just had a baby just a week prior to the final with the lack of sleep and lack of time in general to study like I needed for the final I think this is the only reason why I got a B. I just looked over the lab book prior to class for the lab that we did the week before and this helped me on the quizzes. I got 100 on the midterm and 100 on my unknown so it had to be the classes I missed and the final that did me in. Good luck.
  5. You can so do it. I am married with four children the oldest is 8 and I just had the youngest 3 weeks ago. It is hard I wont lie to you, but it can be done. During the day it is all about the kids. I get my oldest off to school and she is there until 2ish, my 4 yr old is in pre-school from 12-3 and that left me with my then youngest 3 yr old and I was pregnant so that baby was easy. :) I would study while my oldest two were at school and the youngest was sleeping. I am now out of school and taking the summer off. After I picked the kids up from school I went back to it being all about the kids, and then after there were in bed and I had my shower it was around 9 so I would study until 11 or later. I however did have the bonus that if I needed time to study my husband could work or stay home from work and let me go and study. I have taken all my pre-reqs except for A&P II, so far I have a 3.28 it is not the best but it is good. Good luck you can do it, you just need to find out what works for you. I would suggest taken the easier classes the first semester so you can find what works best for you. Also if they offer any online and you think you would be on top of your work then this is a great way to take classes. I loved taking my classes online, most of the tests were at school but it was nice that I could log on any time that I was free and work instead of leaving sick kids behind to go to class.
