Where to live in Amherst?
I lived in The Boulder's for my undergrad its right on a bus line and a little bit further from the school so much quieter. If you want quiet I would avoid the Townhouses, Puffton and Hobart Street. All are frequent party areas.

Quincy College Associates in Nursing
I attend Quincy College currently and have a BA from Umass Amherst. All my credits transferred for Math, History, English etc. However if your sciences aren't within the past 5 years you'll have to retake them. The program is nice, its in a big transition year. Lots of changes are happening. I chose the ADN route also for money purposes. QC was cheaper than an accellerated BSN. Any questions I'd be happy to answer.

Quincy College 2010 full time RN Program
Has anyone heard anything about when we sign up for classes and all that? My work has said that they'll see if its an option for me to stay working here part time but I'd need to know what times and how many days a week clinicals and classes are. Anyone heard anything about the hours? I just got something from QC about my transfer credits but that's it since I got the acceptance letter.

CNA vs. Student Nurse
Hi I'm just wondering what the difference between a CNA and a Student Nurse is. I know you have to have had a certain number of clinical hours before becoming a Student Nurse, does anyone knows how many are required for the state of MA? I'm also wondering what the difference in the job duties I thought they were similiar but I may be way off. I am starting an RN program in the fall and was thinking of getting a CNA certification this summer to work while in school. (I'll have to quit my current job as the program is days and I work days). But my current job just told me they may consider allowing me to work part time while in school. I just dont know if I could skip getting a CNA certification and work at my current job for the first semester or two and then try to get a job as a student nurse or just quit my job and focus solely on nursing. (I currently work in business). I'm moving home to save money and be able to only work part time but I still need to have an income. Any input is appreciated.

Quincy College Pre-Reqs
I dont think so. I'm pretty sure they need to be completed w/ a grade of C or better before you can apply. You'd be done in time for their part time program though. The applicantions for that are due in June. But I think they only have it at their Plymouth Campus and its evenings.

Quincy College Pre-Reqs
The only pre-reqs for the Quincy College Program are AP1 & Chem. Those are only the bare minimum you need but its always smart to take other classes that count toward the program that way once you get in you can focus on the core nursing classes. I applied for the program this yea after taking ap1 & chem in the fall. I'm currently in ap2 and will start the program in sept with it complete.

Quincy College 2010 full time RN Program
Hey Guys! I'll be starting full time with you come September. I'm really anxious to get started. I've heard a lot of good things about the program. Do you guys have any experience in the field already? I'm completely new to it but I'm trying to take a CNA course so I can get licensed and work as a CNA while I'm in school. See you in Sept!

Does anyone know where Quincy College holds their clinicals? Also any ideas on what time/day the nursing corse is? I'm so excited to start but feel like I have no idea what I'll be doing!
